Intake Staff Workflow

The intake staff can use the Intake template to document a patient's chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, standing orders, and various other findings. The intake staff workflow involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake and Histories templates. The information documented by the intake staff is used by the provider for reference and to proceed with the encounter. Open the Home Page Template You can obtain the patient summary on the Home Page template. You can find general and virtual visit workflows in the Intake and Histories template. A general visit consists of office and virtual visits. Note: The instructions provided for office visit in the following sections are also applicable for virtual visits. The general office and virtual visit workflow includes the following: Intake staff workflow provides instructions for nurses or medical assistants on how to use the Intake and Histories templates to document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. Provider workflow provides instructions for physicians on how to use the SOAP and Finalize templates to document assessment and physical exam details, generate evaluation, management codes, and so on. The provider workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves reviewing the information documented by the intake staff and proceeding with the patient encounter by documenting information on the Prenatal Detail and SOAP templates. On the first visit, open the Gestational Age template must be opened and verify the due date. Reviewing Obstetrics Details by Providers A provider can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous patient encounters on the Home Page template for the Obstetrics specialty. Use the SOAP template to enter history, exam, assessment, and plan information. Reason for Visit on the SOAP Template You can use the Reason for Visit to enter the patient introduction and additional details about the reason for visit. Physical Exam Panel You can document physical exam details. Document Review of Systems Details You can review and update symptoms entered during the patient intake process in the Review of Systems section on the SOAP template.
