View Portal Messages
Before you begin For NextGen® Enterprise messages to reach NextGen® PxP Portal, you must ensure the following in Site Generator: Patient Messaging online solution is active Provider's are configured in Administrator Setup/Access Location is configured in Interface Setup For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Site Generator User Guide for NextGen® PxP Portal. The last three months messages are displayed by default. On the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select the Patient Portal tab. The Communications, Prescriptions, Appointments, and Online Forms folders appear in the left pane. The messages appear in the right pane. Optional: To view all the communication sent and received for the selected patient, select Patient-Specific View. Managing Attachments in Secure Communications
Secure communication messages with attachments appear in your mailbox with an attachment icon. The Attachments column can be grouped so that all messages with attachments display at the top of the list. You can also drag and change the position of the columns in your mailbox. When you open a message with attachments, the Attachments tab displays the number of attachments in the message. Patients can send a maximum five attachments from NextGen® PxP Portal in the .jpeg, .jpg, .bmp, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .txt, .tif, and .tiff formats. The NextGen® PxP Portal supports attachments up to a two megabytes. Manage Messages from Excluded Patients
Messages or requests from the excluded patients appear as restricted. You can forward the restricted messages to the users who have permissions to view the messages of such patients. For more information about including and excluding patients at the user level, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest version of System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. From the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select the Patient Portal tab. The Communications, Prescriptions, Appointments, and Online Forms folders appear in the left pane. The messages appear in the right pane. Managing Patient Communications from NextGen® PxP Portal
You can manage the messages exchanged between you and the patients or practice users. You can view all communication sent and received through the NextGen® PxP Portal in a single view for the selected patient, by turning on Patient-Specific View. The count of unread or unsent messages in the Communications, Prescriptions, and Appointments folders refreshes every time you switch between the full view and patient-specific view. You can use the Display list to filter and review specific timeline messages. By default, the last three months messages are displayed. Assign Tasks
Depending on the location and type of message or request, some selection options may not be available. For more information about working with tasks, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Practice Workflow User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Perform one of the following actions: Select a message from a mailbox in Patient Portal messages and select To Do. Right-click a Patient Portal message, and then select Send Task To. Open a message request or an online form, and then select Send Task. The New Task window opens. Select the required Date. Select the Priority. Optional: Update the Subject and Description. Select Assign To. The Select Task Recipients window opens. Select the check boxes next to each user and/or group receiving the task, and then select Add. Select OK.
