Inventory Management Template

Use the Inventory Management template to manage your medication inventory. You can add, adjust, waste, and transfer medications, track transactions. view which patients were administered certain medications in case of recalls and run inventory reports. The following table summarizes the uses of Inventory Management template panels. Panel Use To… Medication Inventory Search for inventory, view inventory details, add non-vaccine medications, adjust inventory, waste medications, and transfer medications to other locations Transfer Information Transfer medications from one inventory to another. Accept transferred medications from a holding grid to check them into inventory, return the medication, or waste the medication Patients Administered Selected Medication View all patients who were administered a selected medication, and to access the patient’s chart Waste View the details of waste transactions for a selected medication Transaction Log View every transaction for a selected medication

Managing Medications

You can document the dispensing and administration details of ordered medications on the MICS Med Management template. You can use the MICS Med Management template to document the dispensing and administration details of medications that are ordered from the Medications module and Office Procedures core template. You can also waste medications, and keep a track of medications that are prescribed and filled in-house. Before you start documenting the details in the Medication Management panel, you must enter the specialty in the Specialty field. After you enter the specialty, the selected value is defaulted in the Specialty field on the following templates of the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control, and the Specialty field becomes read-only. Invoice Configuration Template

Use the Invoice Configuration template to add invoice numbers, vendors, shippers, invoice totals, and due dates, and to monitor paid and unpaid invoices. You can tie medications entered in inventory to invoices for tracking. Configuring Medication Information and Billing Rules

You can configure billing information for medications dispensed or administered and radiology tests done in your practice. You can do the following configurations on the Medication & Billing Configuration system template: Configure where the submitted charges need to be sent for each specialty. Configure the user groups for dispensing or administering on the fly medications. Configure medications as billable or non-billable in the Medication Information Configuration panel. Configure billing rules for medications as per financial class and payers in the Medication Billing Rules panel. Configure billing rules for radiology tests in the Radiology Billing Rules panel. Admin Configuration Template

The Admin Configuration template has panels that you can use to set up users with administrative override rights,give users rights to perform mass inventory updates, configure sub locations and par levels, set up the default panel types for the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, and configure the security group for the billing task. Configuring Administrative Override You can configure security groups and users that have permission to override or remove documentation from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Medication Picklist Template

Each of the panels in the Medication Picklist template has grids that correspond to picklists on configuration templates or medical record templates. Use the grids to configure the picklists for managing inventory and administering medications.
