Configuring Medication Information and Billing Rules

You can configure billing information for medications dispensed or administered and radiology tests done in your practice. You can do the following configurations on the Medication & Billing Configuration system template: Configure where the submitted charges need to be sent for each specialty. Configure the user groups for dispensing or administering on the fly medications. Configure medications as billable or non-billable in the Medication Information Configuration panel. Configure billing rules for medications as per financial class and payers in the Medication Billing Rules panel. Configure billing rules for radiology tests in the Radiology Billing Rules panel. Manage Billing for Specialties You can add, update, and delete billing configurations for various specialties. Configuring NextGen® Medication Inventory Control

You can use the system or practice templates to configure the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control medical record templates and manage your inventory based on your requirements. General Information Medication Picklist Template Configuring Medication Information and Billing Rules You can configure billing information for medications dispensed or administered and radiology tests done in your practice. Configuring Administrative Override

You can configure security groups and users that have permission to override or remove documentation from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can configure the administrative override permission in the Administrative Override Configuration panel on the MICS Admin Configuration system template. Overriding documentation does not remove charges sent over to NextGen® Enterprise PM. Those must be removed manually. You can also view the 100 most recent uses of the administrative override in the 100 Most Recent Admin Override Uses. You can generate a report of all administrative overrides using the Admin Override Report button. Note: Before configuring admin override for users and security groups, you must select Use MICS Admin Override check box to enable the admin override functionality for your practice. Configure Admin Override for Users You can assign administrative override rights to specific users within the practice. Turn Off Admin Override for a User You can turn off the admin override

Adding Preliminary Details for Injections and Aspirations

You can add preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. The following table describes the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, which are used to add preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures. Field Description Consent was obtained You can select this check box to indicate that the consent was obtained for performing the procedure. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. Procedure/risks were explained You can select this check box to indicate that the procedure and the risks associated with it were explained to the patient. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. Questions were answered You can select this check box to indicate that all questions of the patient were answered. Manage Admin Types for Injections/Aspirations template

You can add or update the picklist values for the Admin Type fields on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can manage the picklists using the Admin Types grid in the Administering Template Body Part/Location panel on the Medication Picklist system template. This configuration associates the medication administration types with appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for billing purposes. Add Values to Admin Types Picklists You can add picklist values for the Admin Type fields on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. Update Values in Admin Types Picklists You can update the description and associated CPT code for values in the Admin Types picklists of MICS Injections/Aspirations template.
