Adding Preliminary Details for Injections and Aspirations
You can add preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template.
The following table describes the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, which are used to add preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures.
Field | Description |

Consent was obtained | You can select this check box to indicate that the consent was obtained for performing the procedure. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. |
Procedure/risks were explained | You can select this check box to indicate that the procedure and the risks associated with it were explained to the patient. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. |
Questions were answered | You can select this check box to indicate that all questions of the patient were answered. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. |
Specialty | You can click the field, and select an appropriate specialty from the specialty window. After you enter the specialty, the selected value is defaulted in the Specialty field on the following templates of the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control, and the Specialty field becomes read-only.

Submit To | You can view where the charges are sent after submitting procedures for the selected specialty. To configure where the charges need to be sent after submitting the procedures for a specialty, you can use the MICS Medication & Billing template. |
Rendering Provider | You can view the name of the rendering provider in this read-only field. |
Prepared by | You can click this field, and select the preparer of the injection from the surgeons window. |
Injection/Aspiration Procedures | You can view the current injection and aspiration procedures that are added through the Procedure Type panels in this grid. |
Sub-Location | You can click this field, and select the sub-location for the practice from the locations window. This field appears only if it is configured in the Sub-Location(s) & Par Level Configuration panel on the Admin Configuration template. |
