Field	Description
Consent was obtained	You can select this check box to indicate that the consent was obtained for performing the procedure. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document.
Procedure/risks were explained	You can select this check box to indicate that the procedure and the risks associated with it were explained to the patient. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document.
Questions were answered	You can select this check box to indicate that all questions of the patient were answered. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document.
Specialty	You can click the field, and select an appropriate specialty from the specialty window. After you enter the specialty, the selected value is defaulted in the Specialty field on the following templates of the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control, and the Specialty field becomes read-only. Submit To	You can view where the charges are sent after submitting procedures for the selected specialty. To configure where the charges need to be sent after submitting the procedures for a specialty, you can use the MICS Medication & Billing template.
Rendering Provider	You can view the name of the rendering provider in this read-only field.
Prepared by	You can click this field, and select the preparer of the injection from the surgeons window.
Injection/Aspiration Procedures	You can view the current injection and aspiration procedures that are added through the Procedure Type panels in this grid.
Sub-Location	You can click this field, and select the sub-location for the practice from the locations window. This field appears only if it is configured in the Sub-Location(s) & Par Level Configuration panel on the Admin Configuration template.

Document Using QuickPicks

You can fill in fields on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template quickly and efficiently with a QuickPick. Since a QuickPick saves the entire template, makes sure that you review all entries pulled into the fields and make any changes necessary to the patient encounter. Note: For Injections, the Lot Number field is never saved in a QuickPick. Other fields may be excluded based on configuration settings. Select the Star button to access the rendering provider’s QuickPicks or the Double-Star button to access System Sets and other providers’ QuickPicks. A picklist opens with the available QuickPicks. Select a QuickPick from the list and click OK. The information populates the fields of the panel(s). To add or change information in any field, click in the field to type or select an entry. For injections: If sub-locations are enabled, click in the Sub-Location field and select the sub-location from which the medication is being used. Documenting an Injection

You can document the procedure and medication information for an injection in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can document the medication information for up to four medications for an injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. Documenting Injections and Aspirations

You can document joint injections and aspirations for a patient. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, you can document joint injection or aspiration procedures for a patient encounter. You can use the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels to add the preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures. The Procedure Type panels have the procedure type automatically selected as injection or aspiration based on the configuration in the Injections & Aspirations Provider Panel Defaults panel of the Admin Configuration template. You can add preliminary details for ordering and administering vaccines on the MICS Immunizations template. You can add general information for documenting eye injection procedures on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. The following table describes the fields and links appearing above the Today’s Assessments panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, which are used to add general information for eye injection procedures.
