Adding Preliminary Details for Injections and Aspirations

You can add preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. The following table describes the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, which are used to add preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures. Field Description Consent was obtained You can select this check box to indicate that the consent was obtained for performing the procedure. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. Procedure/risks were explained You can select this check box to indicate that the procedure and the risks associated with it were explained to the patient. This information is added to the patient’s file and office visit document. Questions were answered You can select this check box to indicate that all questions of the patient were answered. Documenting Injections and Aspirations

You can document joint injections and aspirations for a patient. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, you can document joint injection or aspiration procedures for a patient encounter. You can use the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels to add the preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures. The Procedure Type panels have the procedure type automatically selected as injection or aspiration based on the configuration in the Injections & Aspirations Provider Panel Defaults panel of the Admin Configuration template. To change the current procedure type, you can click the procedure type link in the panel name. You can document the following details in the Procedure Type panel. Documenting Eye Injections

You can document procedure and medication information for eye injection procedures in the OD Injection and OS Injection panels on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. You can document the medication information for up to two medications for an eye injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. Document Procedure Information for Eye Injections You can manually document procedure information for an eye injection or using a Quickpick. Documenting Medication Information for Eye Injections You can document up to four medications being administered with an injection procedure. Document Injection Procedure Information

You can manually document injection procedure in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can manually document the injection procedure in following fields or using a Quickpick. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Injection. In the Admin Type field, select administration type. The Body Parts picklist opens. Select the body part from the picklist, and select OK. The Sides picklist opens. Select the side from the picklist, and select OK. The Locations picklist opens. Select the location from the picklist, and select OK. The Portal/Approach picklist opens. Select the portal and approach from the picklist, and select OK. All the fields display the values you selected. The CPT code field is filled based on the Admin Type selected. The Modifier field is filled based on the Side selected. To associate a diagnosis code with the procedure, select a diagnosis in the Diagnosis field. Note: If y

Document and Injection or Aspiration

You can document an injection or aspiration on the Injections and Aspirations template. The Injections grid shows any injections or aspirations performed today, and the medication used. Injections grid on the Billable Visit template In the Physical Exam panel, click Add under the Injections grid. The MICS Injections/Aspirations template opens.
