Document Aspiration Procedure Information

You can manually document aspiration procedure in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can manually document the aspiration procedure in the following fields or using a Quickpick. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Aspiration. In the Admin Type field, select administration type. The Body Parts picklist opens. Select the body part from the picklist, and select OK. The Sides picklist opens. Select the side from the picklist, and select OK. The Locations picklist opens. Select the location from the picklist, and select OK. The Portal/Approach picklist opens. Select the portal and approach from the picklist, and select OK. All the fields display the values you selected. The CPT code field is filled based on the Admin Type selected. The Modifier field is filled based on the Side selected. To associate a diagnosis code with the procedure, select a diagnosis in the Diagnosis field. Not

Document Using QuickPicks

You can fill in fields on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template quickly and efficiently with a QuickPick. Since a QuickPick saves the entire template, makes sure that you review all entries pulled into the fields and make any changes necessary to the patient encounter. Note: For Injections, the Lot Number field is never saved in a QuickPick. Other fields may be excluded based on configuration settings. Select the Star button to access the rendering provider’s QuickPicks or the Double-Star button to access System Sets and other providers’ QuickPicks. A picklist opens with the available QuickPicks. Select a QuickPick from the list and click OK. The information populates the fields of the panel(s). To add or change information in any field, click in the field to type or select an entry. For injections: If sub-locations are enabled, click in the Sub-Location field and select the sub-location from which the medication is being used. Document Procedure Information for Eye Injections

Note: The picklists for many of the fields open sequentially on selecting a value in the previous field. However, you can change your selection in any of the fields by selecting another value. Open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, and then do one of the following: To document the right-eye-injection procedure, expand the OD Injection panel. To document the left-eye-injection procedure, expand the OS Injection panel. Injection panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template In Admin Type, select the type of injection. The CPT details automatically appear based on the admin type selected. In Med. Necessity, select the reason for the injection procedure. Select a category. To associate a diagnosis code with the procedure, select a diagnosis. Note: If you use NextGen® Orthopedic Suite, you must not enter diagnosis codes in the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. Documenting an Injection

You can document the procedure and medication information for an injection in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can document the medication information for up to four medications for an injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. Documenting Injections and Aspirations

You can document joint injections and aspirations for a patient. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, you can document joint injection or aspiration procedures for a patient encounter. You can use the fields appearing above the Procedure Type panels to add the preliminary details for documenting injection and aspiration procedures. The Procedure Type panels have the procedure type automatically selected as injection or aspiration based on the configuration in the Injections & Aspirations Provider Panel Defaults panel of the Admin Configuration template. Document Medication Administration for Billing

You can document the billing details required for the administration of patient medication in the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel on the MICS Dispensing template. Note: If sub-locations are turned on for your practice, select the sub-location in the Sub-location field. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel. In the Administration field, select the administration type. The type and CPT code for the administration is filled in the Administration and Admin Code fields respectively, and the Admin Location picklist opens. Select the location (body region) where the medication is administered, and select OK. If the side is configured for the selected location, then the Body Part Side picklist opens, otherwise the MLTS Modifier Mastr PL picklist opens.
