Document Administered Medications Manually

You can manually document medication administered to a patient in your practice. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Select the source in the Source field. The Medication picklist opens. Select the medication being administered in the Medication field. The MLTS Dbpl Med NDC Lot picklist opens. Select the lot number for the medication being administered in the Lot Number field. The DUR check window opens and displays all the possible interactions for a selected medicine. Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason, and select Acknowledge. The Number Pad window opens to select quantity. Enter or select the quantity of the medication being administered, and select OK. Note: For single dose medications, if you enter a quantity lesser than the vial amount, a confirmation message appear to confirm wasting the remaining quantity. You must select Yes. Document Administered Medications by Scanning the Barcode

You can document the medication administered to a patient in your practice by scanning the barcode printed on the medication package. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Enter the medication administration details. Medication administration details Select the Scan Barcode button. Scan the medication barcode printed on the medication package. Note: If the inventory contains multiple medications matching the scanned barcode in the inventory, a list of medications appears, where for you tocan select the requirednecessary medication. The Source, Medication, Lot Number, Unit Type, Exp. Date and CPT Code fields are automatically filled. The system also runs a DUR check for the medication. Document Administered On the Fly Medications

Before you begin You must configure the permission to add medications on the fly, for your user group in the Medication & Billing Configuration system template. Open the MICS Dispensing template. On the Medication Dispensing and Administartion panel, select Add Med on the Fly link. The MLTS MedConfig Add PU window opens. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Select if the medication is billable or non-billable. From the Source field, select the source of medication. The Med Config: Drug Names picklist opens. Select a medication from the Drug Name field. The MLTS LotTrack Manuf Drug PL picklist opens. Select the manufacturer in the Manufacturer field. The NDC, JCode, and unit type are filled in the corresponding fields. Enter the lot number and expiration date in the corresponding fields, and then select Add. Document Dispensing Medication Manually

You can manually document medication dispensed to a patient in your practice. When you are entering medication information manually, making a selection for a field opens the picklists for the next field. If you close a picklist without making a selection, select the next field that you need to enter information into open the picklist for that field. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing panel. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Select the source in the Source field. The Medication picklist opens. Select the medication being administered in the Medication field. The MLTS Dbpl Med NDC Lot picklist opens. Select the lot number in the Lot Number field. Document Injection Procedure Information

You can manually document injection procedure in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can manually document the injection procedure in following fields or using a Quickpick. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Injection. In the Admin Type field, select administration type. The Body Parts picklist opens. Select the body part from the picklist, and select OK. The Sides picklist opens. Select the side from the picklist, and select OK. The Locations picklist opens. Select the location from the picklist, and select OK. The Portal/Approach picklist opens. Select the portal and approach from the picklist, and select OK. All the fields display the values you selected. The CPT code field is filled based on the Admin Type selected. Document Aspiration Procedure Information

You can manually document aspiration procedure in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can manually document the aspiration procedure in the following fields or using a Quickpick. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Aspiration. In the Admin Type field, select administration type. The Body Parts picklist opens. Select the body part from the picklist, and select OK.
