Document Medication Administration for Billing

You can document the billing details required for the administration of patient medication in the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel on the MICS Dispensing template.
  1. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel.
  2. In the Administration field, select the administration type.
    The type and CPT code for the administration is filled in the Administration and Admin Code fields respectively, and the Admin Location picklist opens.
  3. Select the location (body region) where the medication is administered, and select OK.
    If the side is configured for the selected location, then the Body Part Side picklist opens, otherwise the MLTS Modifier Mastr PL picklist opens.
  4. To enter the side, select the side of the selected location from the Body Part Side picklist.
    The MLTS Modifier Mastr PL picklist opens.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Select the modifier for the procedure, and select OK.
    • Close the picklist if the modifier is not required.
    A diagnosis search and select window opens.
  6. To associate a diagnosis code with the procedure, select a desired diagnosis.
    The diagnosis code for the selected diagnosis is filled in the Diagnosis field.
  7. To add a second diagnosis, select the Second Dx field, and select the desired diagnosis from the window that opens.
