Document Administered Medications Manually
You can manually document medication administered to a patient in your practice.
- On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel.
- Select the sub-location, if turned on.
- Select the source in the Source field.
The Medication picklist opens.
- Select the medication being administered in the Medication field.
The MLTS Dbpl Med NDC Lot picklist opens.
- Select the lot number for the medication being administered in the Lot Number field.
The DUR check window opens and displays all the possible interactions for a selected medicine.
- Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason, and select Acknowledge.
The Number Pad window opens to select quantity.
- Enter or select the quantity of the medication being administered, and select OK.
Note: For single dose medications, if you enter a quantity lesser than the vial amount, a confirmation message appear to confirm wasting the remaining quantity. You must select Yes.
If you are giving multiple injections to a patient from a single dose vial, document the total quantity in single row. You can enter the location, side, and number of injections in Notes field.
- To add any note regarding the procedure or medication, select the Notes field, and enter the notes.
- Select Add/Update.
