Document Dispensing Medication Manually

You can manually document medication dispensed to a patient in your practice.

When you are entering medication information manually, making a selection for a field opens the picklists for the next field. If you close a picklist without making a selection, select the next field that you need to enter information into open the picklist for that field.
  1. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing panel.
  2. Select the sub-location, if turned on.
  3. Select the source in the Source field.
    The Medication picklist opens.
  4. Select the medication being administered in the Medication field.
    The MLTS Dbpl Med NDC Lot picklist opens.
  5. Select the lot number in the Lot Number field.
    The DUR check window opens and displays all the possible interactions for a selected medicine.

  6. Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason, and select Acknowledge.
    The Number Pad window opens to select quantity.
  7. Select the quantity being given in the Qty field.
    The Administration picklist opens.
  8. Select the administration, location, and side in the corresponding fields.
  9. Enter your notes in the Notes field.
  10. Select Add/Update.
