Document Eye Injections Using QuickPicks

You can document procedure and medication details for eye injections using QuickPicks that you built and saved previously. Note: You must select a Sub-location, If sub-locations are turned on for your practice. Open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. To open the rendering provider’s QuickPicks, select star , or to open System Sets and other providers’ QuickPicks, select double-star. A picklist opens, displaying available QuickPicks. Select a QuickPick from the list, and then select OK. The information appears into the fields of the panels as it was saved, with the Lot # field saying Required. Injection panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template In the Lot # field, select lot number for medications. The expiration date automatically appear in Expiration Date. The DUR check window opens, displaying all the possible interactions for the selected medicine. Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason, and select Acknowledge. Document Waste Medications

You can waste medications for any reason from the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. Wasted medications are marked as waste and removed from the inventory. Note: You must select a Sub-location, If sub-locations are turned on for your practice. Open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, and then do one of the following: To document the right-eye-injection procedure, expand the OD Injection panel. To document the left-eye-injection procedure, expand the OS Injection panel. Injection panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template In the Medications section, enter the details of wasted medication. Waste medications on MICS MedAdmin OPH template Select Clear corresponding to the wasted medication. A message opens for you to confirm the medication waste. Select Yes. Documenting Eye Injections

You can document procedure and medication information for eye injection procedures in the OD Injection and OS Injection panels on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. You can document the medication information for up to two medications for an eye injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. Document Injection Procedure Information

You can manually document injection procedure in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can manually document the injection procedure in following fields or using a Quickpick. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Injection. In the Admin Type field, select administration type. The Body Parts picklist opens. Select the body part from the picklist, and select OK. The Sides picklist opens. Select the side from the picklist, and select OK. The Locations picklist opens. Select the location from the picklist, and select OK. The Portal/Approach picklist opens. Select the portal and approach from the picklist, and select OK. All the fields display the values you selected. The CPT code field is filled based on the Admin Type selected. Documenting Ophthalmology Injections

You can document ophthalmology injection procedures for a patient on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. On the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, you can document procedure information, medications administered, and the patient's response for eye injection procedures. You can use the fields appearing before the Today’s Assessments panel to add the general details for documenting eye injection procedures. You can also use the sections after the Injection 2 panel to document follow-up information and view the injection history. The following table describes the panels on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template.
