Adding General Information for Eye Injections

You can add general information for documenting eye injection procedures on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template.

The following table describes the fields and links appearing above the Today’s Assessments panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, which are used to add general information for eye injection procedures.

SpecialtyBy default, the Ophthalmology option is displayed as the specialty when you open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template.

After you open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, the Ophthalmology option is defaulted in the Specialty field on all medical record templates of the NextGen® Medication Inventory Control, and the Specialty field becomes read-only.

SurgeonYou can select the appropriate surgeon for the procedure.
TechnicianYou can select the appropriate technician for the procedure.
Prepared byYou can select the preparer of the injection.
Provider-OPHOpens the Provider-OPH template, where you can review and update patient information, preliminary exam findings, and document physical exams. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest user guide for NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite.
ConsentOpens the Consent Forms - OPH form where you can document patient consent for a procedure.
Generate ConsentGenerates the consent document.
Consent was obtainedYou can select this check box to indicate that the consent was obtained for performing the procedure.
Procedure/risks were explainedYou can select this check box to indicate that the procedure and the risks associated with it were explained to the patient.
Questions were answeredYou can select this check box to indicate that all questions of the patient were answered.
Correct patient identifiedYou can select this check box to indicate that the patient is verified as the correct person intended for the procedure.
Correct side confirmedYou can select this check box to indicate that correct side for the procedure is confirmed.
Sub-LocationYou can select the sub-location for the practice from the locations window. The Sub-Location field appears only if it is configured in the Sub-Location(s) & Par Level Configuration panel on the Admin Configuration template.
