Order External Equipment in the External DME Template

You can order durable medical equipment (DME) from external sources for orthopedic patients.

1. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select External DME.
   The External DME template opens.
2. To add diagnoses and procedures for the order, select Dx & Px.
   Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order equipment.
3. Select the item to order from the Item grid.
   The selected item appears in the Item field.

   Note: You can add, update, and delete items in the Item grid. By default, the current date appears in Date.
4. Select the duration of the item, the date of the injury, and the date of surgery.
5. Enter the reason for the order.
6. Select Place Order.
   The documents configured for external DME orders in the Document Config template are sent to the document queue.
7. Optional: To generate all documents from the document queue, select Print Documents .
