Add Procedures for Orders

You can add procedures to order radiology tests, therapies, durable medical equipment (DME), lab tests, and referrals. Open any applicable template, and then select Dx & Px. The Diagnoses & Procedures window opens. Note: The procedures from all encounters of the patient appear in the Procedure History grid. Select Orthopedic Procedure History or All Procedure History. To associate a procedure with the order, double-click it in the Procedure History grid. The selected procedure is added to the Procedures grid. Note: To remove a procedure, you can select it from the Procedures grid. Select Close. Document Details of External Equipment

You can document the order details for durable medical equipment (DME) that must be purchased from external sources for orthopedic patients. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Expand the External DME panel. Select the item to order from the Item grid. The selected item appears in the Item field. Note: You can add, update, and delete items in the Item grid. By default, the current date appears in Date. Select the duration of the item, the date of the injury, and the date of surgery. Enter the reason for the order. Order Tests, Therapies, Equipment, and Referrals in the Single Order Template

You can document the details of radiology, therapy, lab, durable medical equipment (DME), and referral orders required for a patient and place all orders at once. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Select Dx & Px to add the necessary diagnoses and procedures. Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must add at least one diagnosis to order external radiology tests, therapies, durable medical equipment (DME), lab tests, and referrals. Note: You can use the Radiology Picklists panel in the Radiology Configuration template to make diagnosis-code selection mandatory for placing internal radiology test orders, depending on the category. Open the Radiology Orders Management Template

You can open the Radiology Order Management template to update order details and change the status for all types of radiology orders. Open the Home template. To open the Radiology Order Management template from the Single Order template, do the following: Select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Select a radiology order from the Today's Orders grid, and then select Edit. To open the Radiology Order Management template from the Radiology Order template, do the following: Select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Radiology Order. Select an option for Performed. Select an order from the Radiology Orders grid, and then select Edit. Order External Equipment in the External DME Template

You can order durable medical equipment (DME) from external sources for orthopedic patients. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select External DME. The External DME template opens. To add diagnoses and procedures for the order, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order equipment. Select the item to order from the Item grid. The selected item appears in the Item field. Note: You can add, update, and delete items in the Item grid. By default, the current date appears in Date. Add the Patient's Diagnoses

You can add a diagnosis to the grid in either of two ways. If you are licensed for Problem Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) functionality, click the Problem IT button under the grid to launch IMO to add a diagnosis. To use the Inf Common Assessment template, click the Add button under the Diagnosis grid. Select Orthopedic to add an orthopedic-specific diagnosis or the Medical option for all other diagnoses. Click Add under the Diagnosis grid. The Inf Common Assessment template opens. If the template is blank or you want to use a different common assessment, click the Common Assessments field, select a page from the picklist and click OK. Headers and categories are in bold font Items with a plus sign open picklists or code options to choose from Anything with a Description and Code enters directly into the grid.
