NextGen® Orthopedic Suite Home

You can use the Home template to access all the modules of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite and view the summary of the medical and surgical history, medications, allergies, injections, and diagnostic tests for a patient. The recommended workflow is to begin a patient encounter on the Home template. From the Home template, you can use the workflow tabs and the links to access various templates of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. You can initiate a Scribe Encounter only on the Home template. You can also configure the Home template to exclude the radiology tests with the Cancelled or Error status in the All Internal Radiology Orders grid. Open the Specialty Configuration Home

You can open the specialty configuration homepage using the file menu. Open the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. From the File menu, select System / Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Template Note: By default, the System tab is selected, and preferred templates are displayed on the Select Template window. If the *Specialty Config Home option is not displayed in the preferred templates list, select All in the Show section. All system templates are displayed. View Medical Records and Demographic Templates

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If needed, select a location and provider. Select a patient. The patient's encounters opens in the Encounter History tab. Do one of the following: Select an existing unlocked encounter. To create an encounter, select New. Note: If you are creating a patient or the patient does not have an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR prompts you to create an encounter. To select a template, do one of the following: Select the Templates button on the Top toolbar. You can add the button to the toolbar if it is not visible. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. To display templates of that type, select the Medical Records (default) or Demographics tab. Note: If applicable, the Group and Case Management tabs also appear to select Group Medical Records templates and Case Management templates. Open Your Custom Practice Template with an Orders Management Order Control

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR Do one of the following: On the File menu , select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting system and practice templates. The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: To display all of the available practice templates, select All. If you have a user-defined, preferred list of templates, select Preferred to display them. You can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define your list of preferred templates. Locate and double-click your practice's template with the Orders Management order control. To quickly find the template, select any row in the list, and enter the first few letters of the template name. The first matching template is highlighted in the list. Templates Preferences

The Templates preferences enable you to do the following: Select specific templates to include in the Preferred list of templates in the Select Template window. Set up a default template for new encounters and for the Workflow module Appointments window. Assign a 3-dimensional view to read-only template fields. View System and Practice Templates

System and Practice templates store any necessary information without relation to either a patient or an encounter. Do one of the following: From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File, and then select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting System and Practice templates. The Select Template window opens. To open templates of that type, select the System (default) or Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available system or practice templates. Preferred. Only your user-defined, preferred list of templates. Yo can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define the list of preferred templates. Categories.
