Preregistration Workflow

You can only initiate the preregistration workflow to document the details of the patient before their visit to the office. The preregistration workflow is to be performed before a patient visit the office. For example, a phone nurse contacts the patient to perform preregistration before the appointment. You can open the preregistration workflow templates using the Pre Reg link on the Home template. The following table describes the templates used in this workflow. Template Description Pre Reg To document the chief complaints, appointment details, patient demographics, and insurance details. You can also generate letters for preregistration of patients. Surgery Scheduling Workflow

The surgery scheduling workflow for NextGen® Orthopedic Suite begins on the Surgery Sched template. The information can be entered by clinical staff but must be reviewed and signed off by a provider or surgeon. You can use QuickPick to fill standard information for each surgery type and then add patient specific information. Note: Best practice recommends that you open the Surgery Sched template on its own encounter. Surgeries may be scheduled months in advance and this enables the coordinators to unlock the encounter without having to worry about changing documentation for a previous visit. Order Radiology Tests in the Radiology Order Template

You can order radiology tests performed and billed in your practice or on at an external facility. On the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Radiology Order. The Radiology Order template opens. Select one of the following options for Performed: Internal Today for radiology tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. Internal Later for radiology tests performed and billed in your practice on a future encounter. External for radiology tests performed and billed at an external facility. Do one of the following: To place radiology orders with diagnoses, select Dx & Px, and then add the necessary diagnoses. Note: You must add at least one diagnosis to order external radiology tests. You can use the Radiology Picklists panel in the Radiology Configuration template to make diagnosis-code selection mandatory for placing internal radiology test orders, depending on the category. Access the Home Template

You can open the Home template to begin workflows on the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. If you set up the Home template as the default template in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR user preferences, it will automatically open as the first template for new workflow appointments. You can also manually open this template from the Patient History bar. Open the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. Select the desired patient record. To open Home template from Inbox, do the following: Click the Inbox Task icon icon. The Workflow window opens. Workflow window Double-click the desired appointment in the appointment grid. Using NextGen® Orthopedic Suite

You can use the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite templates to document the encounter details for different visit types of an orthopedic patient.
