NextGen® Orthopedic Suite Home

You can use the Home template to access all the modules of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite and view the summary of the medical and surgical history, medications, allergies, injections, and diagnostic tests for a patient. The recommended workflow is to begin a patient encounter on the Home template. From the Home template, you can use the workflow tabs and the links to access various templates of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. You can initiate a Scribe Encounter only on the Home template. You can also configure the Home template to exclude the radiology tests with the Cancelled or Error status in the All Internal Radiology Orders grid. Sign Off as Scribe

If the Scribe Encounter checkbox on the Home template is selected for the current encounter, the scribe can sign off before submitting charges or the provider signs off on the Finalize Visit template. Select the Scribe signoff checkbox. Scribe signoff check box on the Billable Visit template This enters the user’s name with a date and timestamp, and generates the document if PAQ functionality is enabled. Note: You can make the scribe's approval required or optional for submitting charges on scribe encounters by using the Finalize Visit Settings panel of the IORTS Practice Configuration template. Enter Encounter Remarks

Before you begin Ensure that the Remarks checkbox is selected in the user-level settings to turn on the description/remarks option on the Encounters tab. You can enter the description or remarks for a patient from the encounter menu options on the Encounters tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounters tab, select an encounter, select Encounter Options, and then select Encounter Description/Remark.The Encounter Description / Remark window opens. Enter the remark. Start Live Scribe Visits

When the live-scribe scheduled patients check in, a virtual and scribe-enabled visits icon Virtual and scribe-enabled visits icon appears in the Schedule view. For a live-scribe visit, a scribe has access to join your scheduled visit and take care of the dictations live. Note: If you have synced your device calendar with your schedule, any meeting link from Microsoft® Teams or Google Meet™ having the title Live Scribe appears with the virtual and scribe-enabled visits icon Virtual and scribe-enabled visits icon in the Schedule view. Open NextGen® Mobile. On the menu bar, select Schedule Schedule view icon.The Resources view opens with the list of resources. Search for and select the resources.The Schedule view opens. Document Dictation Use in the Encounter

If dictation is configured for your practice, the Dictate button and No Dictation check box appear at the top of the Finalize Visit template. Note: For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide for NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. On the Finalize Visit template, click the Dictate button. The IORTSfinalize Po template opens. Finalize Visit checklist Select the appropriate check boxes that dictation was used from one of the following visit types: Billable Visits Non-Billable Visits Fracture Care Note: When dictation is used in the encounter, the office note does not automatically generate when you Submit the charges on the Finalize Visit template. Misc. Dictation If you performed a radiology test and used dictation to record the information, click the Radiology Dictated check mark.
