Clinical Reconciliation Results

You can import the results data from the Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA). You can import and reconcile results received from an external C-CDA to the Orders module. An audit record logs in Advance Audit when you modify user permission, reconcile the lab result or create a reference order. Using the Results Panel

You can perform the following actions in the Results panel on the Orders Summary tab: Enter test results coming in with an interface using the Formatted Results, Grid Results, or Documents, Images, and URLs tabs. Manually enter results using the New Results Entry tab. Manually enter related documents using the New Document and Images Entry tab. View and add tracking comments. Send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal. The actions available on the Results panel toolbar change depending on which type of results are being viewed or created. LOINC Support and Results Grouping

The Orders module supports the Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes universal coding for test results (known as LOINC®) . This feature allows you to see test results for the same type of test on the same line even if the tests were performed at two different labs. By way of example, if one lab says "White Blood Count" in the results message and one returns "WBC" in the results message, the LOINC system has a standard ID for test result components that brings them together on the same line in the Results flow sheet. Important: When viewing results in the Orders module on the results flowsheet, they are grouped per a user defined preference: Lab Short description,Lab Long description or NextGen description. If results are grouped by NextGen description, the result names can be either the clinical name, the consumer name or the long common name. Formatted Results Tab

The Formatted Results tab provides the following toolbar options. Option Description Show Normal (N) Results Flag When selected, normal results are marked with a flag. Show compressed results When selected, additional information appears such as LOINC code, performing entity, medical director or specimen. Review Test Results

You can open the order and result detail in the Orders Summary tab. Open the Orders module. The Results tab is in view by default. If the default initial tab view has been changed, select the Results tab to open it. The results appear for the default All filter. To view results for a private or practice filter, select the filter in the Results tab Filters bar. The results appear for the selected filter. To view additional information for a result, select the result value in the Collection Date & Time column. The bottom of the Results tab shows the result value, status, applicable test units, any abnormal flag, the normal range, and any comments. To copy the text, select Select All and Copy. You can paste it in another document or template. Results Toolbar

The Results toolbar displays the options to select. The Results toolbar has the following options. You can view the same options when you right-click in the Results grid. Option Description View Results by Provides a selection list to view the results from various tests by lab short description, lab long description, or NextGen compendium description. Resources Provides links to website resources set up in File Maintenance for external patient education, clinical decision support, and external provider reference. Show Only Results Opens only tests that have results. The result values are not grouped by the test or panel name. You can set up a user preference to View Results Only in the Orders section of the General tab in the Preferences window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
