Configure Procedure Documentation and Findings Content
In the Documentation panel, you can add the procedure documentation and procedure findings values for sections and sub-sections configured in the Procedure Documentation Config practice template.
- On the Procedure Documentation Config- practice template, expand the Documentation panel.
- Click Procedure and select a procedure from the list.
The procedures are configured for a specialty on the Procedure Config practice template.
- Select Procedure documentation or Procedure finding to configure values for a section or sub-section available in the left pane of this panel.
If you select the Procedure Findings option, the system opens a list of locations or findings documented for a procedure in the Procedure Findings panel.
Based on the selected procedure, the first list can include locations. After you select a location, the second list appears to select a finding.
- Select a section or sub-section from the left pane.
A navigational tab displays a short description of the section or finding.
- Enter a Value to appear for the section or sub-section in the run-time templates.
The value documented in the Value field fills the Short description field. The value in the Short description field appears as a navigational tab above the grid in the Documentation panel on this practice template, and on the run-time templates.
- Click Selection type and select any of the following options:
- Mutually exclusive - In run time, you can select only one value from the right grid for a section or sub-section.
- Multiple choice - In run time, you can select more than one value from the right grid for a section or sub-section.
- Click Value type and select an option to indicate if the value is a number pad, free text, or static.
- Number Pad - In run time, a number pad opens after you select the value.
- Free Text - In run time, the freetext input window opens after you select the value.
- Static - Makes the sentence concatenation unique to the specific value.
- If you select the Location section from the left pane, click the GET member equivalent field and select the location to map the location with the finding.
In the run-time Findings panel, the mapped location appears in the procedure findings grid below the GET so that you need not select the location on the ASC Phy Procedure Findings template.
- If the value is mutually exclusive, click the Next Section field and select the next section from the list.
The list includes a top-blank row to clear the selected value from the Next Section field.
In the run-time template, the system auto-selects the next section after selecting the value.
- If the value is required for a regulatory, registry reason, to comply with quality measures, or other reason(s), enter the reason in the Required field.
Note: If the value is made a required value, any attempt to edit or delete the value generates an alert message.
- If the value needs to be associated with the billing codes:
- Click Proc description to open the procedure code search window.
- Search and select a procedure code. The selected procedure and the code appear in the Proc description field and Proc code field respectively.
- If applicable, enter associated modifier to the procedure description in the Mod 1 and Mod 2 fields.
