Configure Concatenation for a Section

The Concatenation section in the Documentation panel enables you to configure content to appear before (pre-text), in the middle (middle-text) or after (post-text) the section value, which concatenates in run-time to provide meaningful procedure documentation.

  1. On the Procedure Documentation Config practice template, expand the Documentation panel.

  2. Click Procedure and select a procedure from the list.
    The procedures are configured for a specialty on the Procedure Config practice template.
  3. Select the Procedure documentation or Procedure findings option.
  4. Select a section from the left pane.
    The associated descriptions appear in the right grid.
  5. Select a row from the right grid.
    The selected section value appears in the Section field in the Concatenation section.

    If the section value is linked to the next section value, select Linked post section. The Middle text field becomes available to enter text.

  6. In Pre-text, enter text to appear before the section value after concatenation in the run-time template.
    The maximum character limit of the field is 500.
  7. In Middle text, enter text to appear between the section value and the post section value after concatenation in the run-time template.
  8. In Post text, enter text to appear after the section value as a concatenation in the run-time template.
    The maximum character limit of the field is 500.
  9. To add pre-defined functions such as age, gender, he/she, and so on to the Pre-text, Middle text, and/or Post text:
    • Place the cursor in the Pre-text, Middle text, or Post text.
    • Click Add Function.
    • Select a function from the list.
    The selected function appears in the corresponding field. You can click the icon to view the definition of the available functions.
  10. If applicable, select Include period to add a period after the post-text.
