Integrate Outlook Mail with NextGen Mail

To integrate your Microsoft® Outlook mail with your NextGen Mail, do the following: Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, then User, and then General. The User Preferences window appears. Select the General tab. In the Mail Options section, select the Logon to Outlook Mail at startup check box. For Default, select one of the following: NextGen: Select this button if NextGen Mail is used most often. Outlook: Select this button if Outlook Mail is used most often. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Log out and then log back in to NextGen® Enterprise PM for the changes to take effect. Note: If the Logon to Outlook Mail at startup check box is not selected and the Outlook button is selected as the default, then your Outlook mail does not display in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Programs in NextGen® Enterprise PM

Practices may provide services to their patients or clients under various programs. Each program includes care and assistance to patients with a specific illness, condition or need, and depending on the program, enrolled patients can receive the following services; recovery and rehabilitation, symptom management, therapy, counseling, medication management, coping and daily living skills, transportation. Some programs may have service requirements. For example, a program may require that only specific services are provided, that services are provided only to patients with a specific diagnosis, that services are rendered only by providers with a specific credential, or that services are provided only to patients within a specific age group. In addition, some programs may have billing requirements. Attach an Encounter Note to NextGen Mail

An encounter note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to other users. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list, select an encounter with an existing quicknote. Select the Notes sub-tab. In the Encounter Notes section, select the note to be attached to a mail message. Right-click and select Attach to Mail. The New Message window appears The Subject field defaults to Patient Note - Enc #nnn and cannot be modified. Send a Message to Users, Security Groups or Distribution Lists

When a Security Group or Distribution List is added to a mail message, users in the group or distribution list are added to the recipient list of the message. The names of the users themselves display, not the name of the group for distribution list. Select the New Message button on the mailbox toolbar to start a new message. TheNew Message window appears. Select the Address button on the message toolbar. The Address Book window appears. In the Available Users and Groups section on the left, select the desired Users, Security Group, or Distribution List. Select the left and right arrow buttons to add or remove the selected users, security group or distribution list to the Message Recipients section on the right. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Complete your message and select the Send Message toolbar button to send the message to the selected users, and all users included in the selected security groups or distribution lists. Send a Mail Message to NextGen and Outlook Users

You can send a mail message to both NextGen users and Outlook users from within NextGen® Enterprise PM. When you create a new message using NextGen Mail, you can select recipients from the NextGen address book or the Outlook address book. From the main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. The NextGen Mailbox window appears. From the mailbox toolbar, select the New Message button. The New Message window appears. The Message tab displays two recipient fields: To NextGen and To Outlook. The field that is required is the one that is selected as the Default Mail Option in General User Preferences. Do the following: In the To NextGen field, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the NextGen address book, and then select OK. In the To Outlook field, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the Outlook address book, and then select OK.
