Send a Message to Users, Security Groups or Distribution Lists

When a Security Group or Distribution List is added to a mail message, users in the group or distribution list are added to the recipient list of the message. The names of the users themselves display, not the name of the group for distribution list.

  1. Select the New Message button on the mailbox toolbar to start a new message.
    TheNew Message window appears.

  2. Select the Address button on the message toolbar.
    The Address Book window appears.
  3. In the Available Users and Groups section on the left, select the desired Users , Security Group , or Distribution List .
  4. Select the left and right arrow buttons to add or remove the selected users, security group or distribution list to the Message Recipients section on the right.
  5. To save changes and close the window, select OK.
  6. Complete your message and select the Send Message toolbar button to send the message to the selected users, and all users included in the selected security groups or distribution lists.
