Attach an Encounter Note to NextGen Mail
An encounter note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to other users.
Access the
Patient Chart
.
Select the
Encounters
tab.
From the
Encounters
list, select an encounter with an existing quicknote.
Select the
Notes
sub-tab.
In the
Encounter Notes
section, select the note to be attached to a mail message.
Right-click and select
Attach to Mail
.
The
New Message
window appears
The
Subject
field defaults to
Patient Note - Enc #nnn
and cannot be modified.
Complete and send the mail message to the desired users.

Attach a Chart Note to NextGen Mail
A chart note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to the other users. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. From the Topics list, select a topic with an existing quicknote. For example, Chart Notes or Collections. In the Details section, select the note to be attached to a mail message. Right-click and select Attach to Mail. The New Message window appears. The Subject field defaults to Chart Note and cannot be modified. Complete and send the mail message to the desired users. Send Encounter Notes as Emails
On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select Encounters and then select the Notes tab. The Encounters and Encounter Notes sections appear. From the Encounters section, select an encounter note to send as an email. Under the Encounter Notes section right-click the note, and then select Attach to Mail. The New Message window opens. To add recipients, do the following: In To NextGen, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the NextGen Healthcare address book, and then select OK. NextGen Mail
NextGen® Enterprise PM includes a mail feature that enables you to send messages to, and receive messages from, other users in the practice. If your practice normally uses Outlook® for email, users can integrate their Outlook mail with their NextGen Mail so they have access to both in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Add Notes to Encounters
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Add a Collection Letter to an Encounter
To add a collection letter to an encounter, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to locate the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria are displayed in the Matching Records section. In the Matching Records list, double-click the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. In the Encounters list, open the encounter. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select the Billing & Collections tab. In the Collection Letter field, select a letter. The Send Collection Letter check box is automatically selected. This qualifies the letter to be included in the next batch of Encounter Collection Letters. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Viewing Notes Information in Encounters
You an view the notes attached to a selected encounter in the Note tab under Encounters. You can add, modify, delete, print or seal an existing note on the selected encounter. Encounters - Notes Tab You can view patient encounters in the Encounters section and notes in the Encounter Notes section in the Notes tab. A pushpin appears next to an encounter with a note. Add Notes to Encounters You can add a note to a encounter using the Note tab under Encounters in a patient chart. Delete Encounter Notes You can use the Notes tab under Encounters to delete a note attached to a patient encounter.
