Add Notes to Encounters
Open
NextGen® Enterprise PM
.
On the main toolbar, select
Chart
or
Chart Lookup
.
The
Patient Lookup
window opens.
In the
Search Criteria
section, enter the patient's information, and then select
Find
.
Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the
Matching Records
section.
Select the patient, and then select
Open
.
The
Patient Chart
window opens.
Select
Encounters
and then select the
Notes
tab under it.
The
Encounters
and
Encounter Notes
sections appear.
Under the
Encounters
section, select an encounter.
Select open record
and then select
New
.
The
Patient Note
window opens.
Enter details in Subject and
Note Entry
section, and then select
OK
.
Note:
You can select the
Seal Note
check box to seal and keep a note confidential.
A pushpin
appears on the
Note
tab along with the number of added encounters.

Delete Encounter Notes
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select Encounters and then select the Notes tab. The Encounters and the Encounter Notes sections appear. Under the Encounter Notes section, right-click the note and then select Delete. A message appears asking you for a confirmation to delete the note. Select OK. Send Encounter Notes as Emails
On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select Encounters and then select the Notes tab. The Encounters and Encounter Notes sections appear. From the Encounters section, select an encounter note to send as an email. Under the Encounter Notes section right-click the note, and then select Attach to Mail. The New Message window opens. To add recipients, do the following: In To NextGen, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the NextGen Healthcare address book, and then select OK. Viewing Notes Information in Encounters
You an view the notes attached to a selected encounter in the Note tab under Encounters. You can add, modify, delete, print or seal an existing note on the selected encounter. Encounters - Notes Tab You can view patient encounters in the Encounters section and notes in the Encounter Notes section in the Notes tab. A pushpin appears next to an encounter with a note. Add Notes to Encounters You can add a note to a encounter using the Note tab under Encounters in a patient chart. Delete Encounter Notes You can use the Notes tab under Encounters to delete a note attached to a patient encounter. Add and Send Encounter Notes
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Notes tab, and then select an encounter. All notes associated with the selected encounter appear. Select the open menu icon next to Encounter Notes, select New, and then in Patient Notes, enter the necessary information, and then select OK. Note: You can select the Seal Note checkbox to lock the note information. The pushpin icon appears next to the encounter representing that the note is added. To send an encounter note, in Encounter Notes, right-click a note, select Attach to Mail, enter the recipient and other necessary information, and then select Send Message. Add or Modify an Encounter Note
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to locate the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records section of the window. In the Matching Records list, double-click to open the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list on the left, open the desired encounter. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select the Billing & Collections tab. In the Encounter Notes section, do one of the following: To add a note, select the Open Menu icon and select New. To modify an existing note, select the item in the list, select Open Menu, and then select Open. The Patient Notes window opens. In the Subject and Note Entry fields, do one of the following. Enter a free-text subject and note. In the User Note Description field, select one or more pre-defined notes, and then select the arrow button to add the sel

Enter an Encounter Follow-up Date
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to locate the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the entered search criteria display in the Matching Records section of the window. In the Matching Records list, double-click the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list on the left, open the desired encounter. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select the Billing & Collections tab. In the Follow Up Date field, and then enter a future date.
