report.

Send an Encounter Collection Letter
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to locate the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records section of the window. In the Matching Records list, double-click to open the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list on the left, open the desired encounter. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select the Billing & Collections tab. Select the letter in the Collection Letter field. The Send Collection Letter check box is automatically selected. The letter is included in the next batch of Encounter Collection Letters. Note: The letters available for selection are created as Demand Encounter letters in File Maintenance. Add or Modify an Encounter Note
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to locate the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records section of the window. In the Matching Records list, double-click to open the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list on the left, open the desired encounter. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select the Billing & Collections tab. In the Encounter Notes section, do one of the following: To add a note, select the Open Menu icon and select New. To modify an existing note, select the item in the list, select Open Menu, and then select Open. The Patient Notes window opens. In the Subject and Note Entry fields, do one of the following. Enter a free-text subject and note. In the User Note Description field, select one or more pre-defined notes, and then select the arrow button to add the sel

Use the Collections Follow Up Report
The Collections Follow Up report track encounters on the Billing & Collections tab of the Encounter Maintenance window. The report has drill-down functionality with direct access to encounters in patient charts. If the Follow Up Date on an encounter is changed or removed, the patient is crossed-out on the report indicating the encounter has already been reviewed. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Reports menu, select Accounts Receivable. Select Collections, and then select Collections Follow Up. The NextGen Report Filter window opens. Select Columns, and then select the desired columns to be included in the report. Select Filter 1, and then select the desired Follow Up Date range for the report. Select Filters, and then select any additional data that you want to generate on the report. Select Sorting, and then sort and group encounters by the Follow Up Date. View Eligibility Information for a Patient
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup.. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list, select an encounter with a payer attached. Access the patient's chart and select the Encounters tab. Select the Insurance tab. Create Cases in an Encounter
Before you begin In Practice Preferences, you must turn on Enable Case Management on the Case Management tab in File Maintenance. You can view and group the common patient encounter data in a case. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Case Management tab, and then select an encounter. The cases associated with the selected encounter appear. Select the open menu icon next to Case Management, and then select New. In the Case Management window, enter the necessary information, and then select OK.
