Send Encounter Notes as Emails
- On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup
.
The Patient Lookup window opens. - In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find.
Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section.
- Select the patient and then select Open.
The Patient Chart window opens.
- Select Encounters and then select the Notes tab.
The Encounters and Encounter Notes sections appear.
- From the Encounters section, select an encounter note to send as an email.
- Under the Encounter Notes section right-click the note, and then select Attach to Mail.
The New Message window opens.
- To add recipients, do the following:
- In To NextGen, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the NextGen Healthcare address book, and then select OK.
Note: The To NextGen field is required and is selected as the Default Mail Option in General User Preferences.
- In the To Outlook field, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the Outlook address book, and then select OK.
The New Message window displays the selected recipients in the To NextGen and To Outlook fields. - In To NextGen, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the NextGen Healthcare address book, and then select OK.
- In Subject, enter a text subject for the mail message.
- Enter free-text for the body content of the email message.
- Select Send Message
.
The NextGen Mailbox window reappears.
