Attach a Chart Note to NextGen Mail
A chart note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to the other users.
Access the
Patient Chart
.
Select the
Clinical History/Notes
tab.
From the
Topics
list, select a topic with an existing quicknote. For example,
Chart Notes
or
Collections
.
In the
Details
section, select the note to be attached to a mail message.
Right-click and select
Attach to Mail
.
The
New Message
window appears.
The
Subject
field defaults to
Chart Note
and cannot be modified.
Complete and send the mail message to the desired users.

Attach an Encounter Note to NextGen Mail
An encounter note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to other users. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list, select an encounter with an existing quicknote. Select the Notes sub-tab. In the Encounter Notes section, select the note to be attached to a mail message. Right-click and select Attach to Mail. The New Message window appears The Subject field defaults to Patient Note - Enc #nnn and cannot be modified. NextGen Mail
NextGen® Enterprise PM includes a mail feature that enables you to send messages to, and receive messages from, other users in the practice. If your practice normally uses Outlook® for email, users can integrate their Outlook mail with their NextGen Mail so they have access to both in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Create Quicknotes
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. The Clinical History/Notes window opens displaying Topics and Description. Under the Topics section, select the category to attach the note and then right-click in the Descriptions section and select Quicknote. The Quicknote window opens. Enter a subject for the note. Select a description for the user note from the User Note Description list. Note: User Note Descriptions are automatically filled text items that you can select when you create a note. Send Encounter Notes as Emails
On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Send Message using NextGen® PxP Portal
You can send messages to an enrolled patient using Patient Portal. You can compose and send messages using Patient Portal to an enrolled patient or an internal user or group. In NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, do one of the following: From the Cohorts tab, run a report. From the My Lists tab, run a list. From the Appointment Book tab, filter the patients. The patient list appears in the patient grid. In the patient grid, select the check box next to the patient's name. From Message, select Patient Portal. The Patient Portal Message window opens. From the To list, select a recipient. In Subject, enter the subject of the mail. From the From list, select the sender's name. The online profiles you belong to appear in the From list. Under the message section, enter a message or insert a standard response. Note: The appearance of the Standard Responses window is controlled from the right-click menu. Update NextGen Documents Associated with Clinical Notes
Open the Document Mapping system template. To update a configured NextGen Document, select the record that you want to edit in the Clinical Note Mapping panel. Clinical Note Mapping Note: All fields in the selected record are available for edit. You cannot update the document type, for example, you cannot change NextGen Documents to Crystal Reports or Document Management. If you try to change the document type, then all fields are cleared and the NextGen Document record is not available for an update. Make the desired changes. Click Update.
