Attach a Chart Note to NextGen Mail
A chart note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to the other users.
Access the
Patient Chart
.
Select the
Clinical History/Notes
tab.
From the
Topics
list, select a topic with an existing quicknote. For example,
Chart Notes
or
Collections
.
In the
Details
section, select the note to be attached to a mail message.
Right-click and select
Attach to Mail
.
The
New Message
window appears.
The
Subject
field defaults to
Chart Note
and cannot be modified.
Complete and send the mail message to the desired users.

Attach an Encounter Note to NextGen Mail
An encounter note can be attached to a NextGen Mail message and sent to other users. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list, select an encounter with an existing quicknote. Select the Notes sub-tab. In the Encounter Notes section, select the note to be attached to a mail message. Right-click and select Attach to Mail. The New Message window appears The Subject field defaults to Patient Note - Enc #nnn and cannot be modified. Attach Encounter or Chart Notes to Mail
You can attach an encounter note or chart note to a NextGen Mail message and send it to other users to enhance communication, reduce errors, and ensure traceability for documentation and follow-up. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart on the main toolbar, and then search and select the desired patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select Chart on the main toolbar, and then search for and select the desired patient. In the Patient Chart window, do one of the following: Select the Clinical History/Notes tab, in the Topics list, select a topic with an existing quick note, and then select the note to be attached to a mail message from the Details section. NextGen® Enterprise PM includes a mail feature that enables you to send messages to, and receive messages from, other users in the practice. If your practice normally uses Outlook® for email, users can integrate their Outlook mail with their NextGen Mail so they have access to both in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Create Quicknotes
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. The Clinical History/Notes window opens displaying Topics and Description. Under the Topics section, select the category to attach the note and then right-click in the Descriptions section and select Quicknote. The Quicknote window opens. Enter a subject for the note. Select a description for the user note from the User Note Description list. Note: User Note Descriptions are automatically filled text items that you can select when you create a note. Send Encounter Notes as Emails
On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select Encounters and then select the Notes tab. The Encounters and Encounter Notes sections appear. From the Encounters section, select an encounter note to send as an email. Under the Encounter Notes section right-click the note, and then select Attach to Mail. The New Message window opens. To add recipients, do the following: In To NextGen, double-click <<Double-Click to Select Mail Recipient(s)>> to select recipients from the NextGen Healthcare address book, and then select OK. Add and Send Encounter Notes
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, select the Notes tab, and then select an encounter. All notes associated with the selected encounter appear. Select the open menu icon next to Encounter Notes, select New, and then in Patient Notes, enter the necessary information, and then select OK. Note: You can select the Seal Note checkbox to lock the note information. The pushpin icon appears next to the encounter representing that the note is added. To send an encounter note, in Encounter Notes, right-click a note, select Attach to Mail, enter the recipient and other necessary information, and then select Send Message.
