Viewing Patient Demographics

The Demographics section on the Patient Dashboard page displays information about an active NextGen® PxP Portal patient. Note: To avoid interoperability issues, NextGen Healthcare recommends that you do not edit patient information in the Demographics section. If you edit any demographic information on the Patient Dashboard page, the changes reflect in the My Account section of the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Following are some details about a few of the fields: User Id The patient can update the user ID in the My Account section in NextGen® PxP Portal. Patient Source The way the patient’s invitation is sent to NextGen Healthcare. The Patient Source is determined by the integration settings configured during implementation. NPP Acknowledged Date on which the patient acknowledged the notice of privacy practices (NPP). Address The patient can update the address in the My Account section in NextGen® PxP Portal. Configuring Trusted Representatives for a Patient

To verify the linked dependent and trusted representatives for a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account, you can use the Family Management section on the Patient Dashboard. You can also configure the access rights for trusted representatives on behalf of the patient. Search for a Patient and Update Email and Mobile Number

You can use the search filters on the Patient Search page in Practice Portal to search for active and inactive NextGen® PxP Portal patients. Log on to Practice Portal. On the My Home page, in the left pane, select Patient Search.The Patient Search page opens. The Patient Search page provides options for filtering your search To define the scope of your search, enter the values in one or more of the filters, then select Search for Patient.The Search Results section displays the patients matching your search criteria. You can select a patient to view the Patient Dashboard. Note: You can select New Search to reset your search criteria. The Search Results page displays the name, social security number, birth date, and email address for each matching patient To update a patient email or mobile number, do the following: In Patient Dashboard, select Edit next to Mobile Number or Email, make the necessary changes, and then select Save. Reset Multi-Factor Authentication for Patients

You can reset the multi-factor authentication for your patient so that they can update their mobile number and email address when they log on to NextGen® PxP Portal. Log on to Practice Portal. To open the Patient Dashboard page, search for and select a patient. In the Patient Utilities section, select Reset Multi-factor Authentication.A message appears to indicate that the multi-factor authentication has been reset for patient. Managing Accounts for Guardians and Trusted Representatives in Practice Portal

Practice can invite guardians and trusted representatives for patients using the Family Management section in Practice Portal. Practices can also edit the access rights of a trusted representative on behalf of a patient. Practices can manage the following types of patients using the Patient Dashboard in Practice Portal: Inactive Underage Patient This type of patient is not old enough to age out, and the patient's parent or guardian has not completed the enrollment using the invitation email. The Patient's age is under the age-out age configured for this practice icon indicates that the patient is not old enough to age out. Active Underage Patient This type of patient is not old enough to age-out, and the patient's parent or guardian has accepted the invitation and activated the account. Enrollment Status Indicators of Patients

NextGen® PxP Portal has the following enrollment status indicators. Status Icon Tool Tip Description Not enrolled Not Enrolled in Patient Portal The patient is not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Not enrolled Aged Out The patient is aged out and the enrollment of guardian is revoked. Pending Patient Portal enrollment pending The practice has initiated the patient's enrollment, but the patient has not completed the enrollment. Completed Completed Enrollment Last Login Date MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS Note: The last logon information appears only when the icon is available for selecting. The patient has completed the enrollment. Deactivated Patient Portal deactivated The practice has deactivated the NextGen® PxP Portal account of the patient. If the account is activated again, the enrollment status changes to Completed.
