Non-Billable Post-Op Visit Workflow

The Non-Billable Visit template is for post-op visit documentation, as well as, any non-billable visits that require HPI, Exam, and Plan information. The Non-Billable Visit template has four panels; History, Infection, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan (MDM). Access the Non-Billable Visit Template You can access the Non Billable Visit template from the Home template. Patient History for Post-Operative Visits You can associate surgical procedures with post-operative visits, and document a patient's history for post-operative visits. Infection Panel - Implants, Labs, and Antibiotics Physical Exam Panel Assessment and Plan (MDM) Panel Submitting Charges to Finalize a Visit You can enter the visit details, today's diagnoses, and procedures to submit charges and finalize visit. Non-Billable Fracture Care Post-Op Workflow

Each fracture care template has a corresponding non-billable fracture care template such as NBV Single Fx, NBV Multiple FX, and NBV Poly-Trauma FX follow-up. The non-billable fracture care templates are accessed by clicking the Non-Billable tab and selecting the desired template. These templates enable you to document a follow-up visit for the initial fracture care visit. Each of these templates has four panels; Surgical Information, History, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan. Copy Previous Surgery Details You can copy details of previous surgeries for assessment and planning of the polytrauma fracture care on the NBV PolyTrauma template. Cast and Wound Care Workflow

You can document a patient's history, physical exams, basic assessment, and plan for the cast and wound care. The providers and clinical staff can use the Cast/Wound Care template to document the details of the cast and wound care without using the Billable Visit and Non Billable Visit templates. Cast/Wound Care template The following table describes the panels on this template. Panel Description History To document the patient's surgical history and issues with the cast, brace, splint, or wound. Physical Exam To document issues with the cast area and what was done for the new cast, splint, or brace. Plan To document the details of the basic assessment and plan. Patient History

You can review, add, and update the patient histories. The History panel on the Billable Visit template enables you to select the visit type and review the diagnoses, histories, medications, allergies, and review of systems of a patient. You can also add or update the details of the history of present illness (HPI). The following grids are automatically filled with the data documented on the Intake template. You can add, edit, and remove the data as needed. Documenting Visit Time

You can enter the visit time for a patient's visit on the Billable Visit template. On the Billable Visit template, you can use the fields in the Visit Time sections to track the visit time for the evaluation and management (E&M) coding guidelines. Visit time on the Billable Visit template You can do one of the following to enter the visit time in the Start and End fields. To enter the current time, you can click the Clock icon icon. To enter a specific time, you can click the Down arrow icon icon, and enter the time in the time entry window. If you enter time in the Start and End fields, the total visit time is automatically calculated in minutes and displayed in the Total field. You can also manually enter the total visit time in minutes in the Total field if there are no entries in the Start and End fields. Parent topic: Billable Visits

Documenting Billable Visit Counseling

You can document the additional counseling time and its associated details for a patient. You can use the BV Counseling template to document additional counseling time spent with a patient. The Visit Type is automatically selected based on the data entered on the Billable Visit template. You can also document the details of the counseling given to the patient. Selecting the Counseling Override check box enables you to override the calculated evaluation and management (E&M) code for counseling and enter the total encounter time to determine the E&M level. BV Counseling template If the 2023 E&M coding guidelines are applicable, the Counseling Override check box does not appear on the BV Counseling template, and the Total Encounter Time field is made available to enter the values.
