Non-Billable Post-Op Visit Workflow

The Non-Billable Visit template is for post-op visit documentation, as well as, any non-billable visits that require HPI, Exam, and Plan information. The Non-Billable Visit template has four panels; History, Infection, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan (MDM). Access the Non-Billable Visit Template You can access the Non Billable Visit template from the Home template. Patient History for Post-Operative Visits You can associate surgical procedures with post-operative visits, and document a patient's history for post-operative visits. Fracture Care Workflow

Use the Fracture Care Visit templates for fracture care where an E&M code is not being calculated/billed out. There are separate templates for Single Fracture (FC Single FX) for one fracture care code, Multi FX (FC Multiple FX) for up to three fracture care codes, and Poly Trauma (FC Poly Trauma) for unlimited fracture care codes. These templates all have three panels; History, Physical Exam and Assessment and Plan. The fracture care templates are accessed by clicking the New Fracture tab and selecting the desired template. Billable Visits

The Billable Visit workflow starts on the Billable Visit template. This template is used to document the History of Present Illness (HPI), Physical Exams, and Assessment and Plan portions of an E&M coded visit. It pulls in information from the Intake template. It has three panels: History, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan. Documenting Visit Time You can enter the visit time for a patient's visit on the Billable Visit template. Patient History You can review, add, and update the patient histories. Physical Exam Panel Assessment and Plan Panel (Diagnosis/MDM) Billable Visit Sign-off Documenting Billable Visit Counseling You can document the additional counseling time and its associated details for a patient. Finalizing a Patient Visit You can enter a patient's visit details and today's diagnoses, and apply diagnosis codes to procedures to submit charges and finalize the visit. Cast and Wound Care Workflow

You can document a patient's history, physical exams, basic assessment, and plan for the cast and wound care. The providers and clinical staff can use the Cast/Wound Care template to document the details of the cast and wound care without using the Billable Visit and Non Billable Visit templates. Cast/Wound Care template The following table describes the panels on this template. Panel Description History To document the patient's surgical history and issues with the cast, brace, splint, or wound. Physical Exam To document issues with the cast area and what was done for the new cast, splint, or brace. Plan To document the details of the basic assessment and plan. Assessment and Plan for Non-Billable Post Op Visits

The Assessment and Plan panel allows the provider to document a post-op visit for an initial fracture care procedure, the plan, verbal counseling, and next visit information. The Diagnosis grid displays the patient’s diagnoses. The system defaults to the Orthopedic option to view Orthopedic-specific diagnoses. The Medical option displays non-orthopedic diagnoses. Associate Procedures to Post-Operative Visits

You can associate surgical procedures with a patient's post-operative visit. The Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid displays the details of the previous surgeries documented for the patient. You can associate surgical procedures with a patient's post-operative visit from this grid on the following templates. Non Billable Visit NBV Single Fx NBV Multiple Fx If the surgery is coded on the following templates, the procedure is automatically added to the Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid with the global date and post-operative days. You can manually enter a procedure to this grid on the Intake template. Surgery Coding FC Single Fx FC Multi Fx FC Poly Trauma On the appropriate template, in the History panel, select the desired procedure in the Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid. Note: On the NBV Single Fx and NBV Multiple Fx templates, the Surgery Information panel contains the Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid.
