Document Patient History for Post-Operative Visits

You can document a patient's history such as details of the last injection, pain, medications, and allergies for a post-operative visit. On the Non Billable Visit template, expand the History panel. Enter the details of the last injection in the following order: Click the Last Inj field, select the last injection date, and then click OK. Enter the duration of the relief in hours, days, weeks, and months. Enter the details of pain as follows: Indicate the severity of the pain. Click the Pain Scale field, and select the pain scale from one to ten from the list. Click the Status % field, select the percentage of the pain status, and then click OK. Patient History for Post-Operative Visits

You can associate surgical procedures with post-operative visits, and document a patient's history for post-operative visits. On the Non Billable Visit template, in the History panel, you can associate surgical procedures to the post-operative visit. The Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid in this panel displays the details of the patient's previous surgeries. You can document the following details of the patient for the post-operative visit. Last injection Pain Associated symptoms Ambulatory aids and braces Function and activity levels Sports and hobbies Employer details Medications and allergies History panel on the Non Billable Visit template You can use the Overflow Type section to add additional symptoms, ambulatory aids and braces, and function and activity levels if the fields in their respective sections are insufficient. Non-Billable Fracture Care Post-Op Workflow

Each fracture care template has a corresponding non-billable fracture care template such as NBV Single Fx, NBV Multiple FX, and NBV Poly-Trauma FX follow-up. The non-billable fracture care templates are accessed by clicking the Non-Billable tab and selecting the desired template. These templates enable you to document a follow-up visit for the initial fracture care visit. Each of these templates has four panels; Surgical Information, History, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan. Copy Previous Surgery Details You can copy details of previous surgeries for assessment and planning of the polytrauma fracture care on the NBV PolyTrauma template. Copy Previous Surgery Details

On the NBV PolyTrauma template, you can copy the details of a previous surgery from the Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid of the Surgery Information panel to the Assessment and Plan panel for follow-up visits of the polytrauma fracture care. The Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid displays the details of the previous surgeries documented for the patient. If the surgery was coded on any fracture care templates, the procedure is automatically added to this grid. You can manually add a procedure to this grid on the Intake template. On the NBV PolyTrauma template, in the Surgery Information panel, select the body area to copy the surgery details. Add a Surgical Procedure

To open the IORTS Px Xpo template, do one of the following: Under the following grids, click Add: Orthopedic Surgical History grid on the Intake template Surgical History grid on the Intake template Procedures grid on the Surgery Coding template On templates where you are adding procedures to diagnoses/assessments (for example, the Single or Multi Fx template), click the Procedure Codes button. If the Procedure Page field is blank or you want to select a different value, click the Procedure Page field, and select a value from the list and click OK. IORTS Procedure Page window Select a procedure code. If picklists open, make any selections necessary to refine the procedure description: If the IORTS Side picklist opens, select the side or bilateral, or select the blank at the top of the picklist to continue without selecting the side. Manage the Post-Operative Global Visit to Submit Charges

You can add or remove the post-operative global visit to submit charges and finalize a visit. For a post-operative visit, the evaluation and management (E&M) code is not displayed in the field next to the E&M Key button on the Finalize Visit template. You can use the Non-Billable & Initial Fracture Care grid to add or remove an office visit. On the applicable template, click Finalize Visit in the workflow tab. The Finalize Visit template opens. To add Post-Op Global to the coding grid of the Finalize Visit template, do the following: Select Post-Op Global from the Non-Billable & Initial Fracture Care grid. The IORTSfinalize Po window opens. Finalize visit checklist The IORTSfinalize Po window opens only if dictation for the provider or practice is configured in the Dictation panel on the Practice Configuration template.
