Non-Billable Fracture Care Post-Op Workflow

Each fracture care template has a corresponding non-billable fracture care template such as NBV Single Fx, NBV Multiple FX, and NBV Poly-Trauma FX follow-up. The non-billable fracture care templates are accessed by clicking the Non-Billable tab and selecting the desired template. These templates enable you to document a follow-up visit for the initial fracture care visit. Each of these templates has four panels; Surgical Information, History, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan. Copy Previous Surgery Details You can copy details of previous surgeries for assessment and planning of the polytrauma fracture care on the NBV PolyTrauma template. Patient History for Post-Operative Visits You can associate surgical procedures with post-operative visits, and document a patient's history for post-operative visits. Billable Visits

The Billable Visit workflow starts on the Billable Visit template. This template is used to document the History of Present Illness (HPI), Physical Exams, and Assessment and Plan portions of an E&M coded visit. It pulls in information from the Intake template. It has three panels: History, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan. Documenting Visit Time You can enter the visit time for a patient's visit on the Billable Visit template. Patient History You can review, add, and update the patient histories. Physical Exam Panel Assessment and Plan Panel (Diagnosis/MDM) Billable Visit Sign-off Documenting Billable Visit Counseling You can document the additional counseling time and its associated details for a patient. Finalizing a Patient Visit You can enter a patient's visit details and today's diagnoses, and apply diagnosis codes to procedures to submit charges and finalize the visit. Pre-Op Templates

Access the FC Past Med Hx Template You can access the FC Past Med Hx template from the Home template. Document Past Medical History for Fracture Care You can document the pre-operative information for fracture care of patients. Pre-Operative Visit for a Surgery You can document the details of the pre-operative visit for a surgery. Pre-Operative History and Physical Exams The Pre-op H&P template enables you to document the details of H&P exams and generate the H&P Note. Cast and Wound Care Workflow

You can document a patient's history, physical exams, basic assessment, and plan for the cast and wound care. The providers and clinical staff can use the Cast/Wound Care template to document the details of the cast and wound care without using the Billable Visit and Non Billable Visit templates. Cast/Wound Care template The following table describes the panels on this template. Panel Description History To document the patient's surgical history and issues with the cast, brace, splint, or wound. Physical Exam To document issues with the cast area and what was done for the new cast, splint, or brace. Plan To document the details of the basic assessment and plan. Patient History for Post-Operative Visits

You can associate surgical procedures with post-operative visits, and document a patient's history for post-operative visits. On the Non Billable Visit template, in the History panel, you can associate surgical procedures to the post-operative visit. The Past Orthopedic Surgeries grid in this panel displays the details of the patient's previous surgeries. You can document the following details of the patient for the post-operative visit. Last injection Pain Associated symptoms Ambulatory aids and braces Function and activity levels Sports and hobbies Employer details Medications and allergies History panel on the Non Billable Visit template You can use the Overflow Type section to add additional symptoms, ambulatory aids and braces, and function and activity levels if the fields in their respective sections are insufficient. Assessment and Plan (MDM) Panel

The Assessment and Plan panel enables the provider to select the diagnosis for today’s plan, and enter today’s plan, next visit information, and verbal counseling. Assessment and Plan panel on the Non Billable Visit template The Diagnosis grid shows the patient’s diagnoses. The system defaults to the Orthopedic option to view Orthopedic-specific diagnoses.
