Send SOAP Notes in NextGen® Ambient Assist

You can use NextGen® Ambient Assist to generate and edit Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes from your patient visit, and then send them to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: NextGen® Ambient Assist replaces any existing SOAP note narrative text. To prevent blocking of ambient services, you can add api.nabla.com to your internet allowlist. You can continue with the ambient recording when you switch from wireless to cellular network or the other way around. During an ambient session, if the internet connection is lost, audio can buffer for up to two minutes and can resume with normal transcription when the connection is restored. Ambient is available by default for NextGen® Mobile Pro users. You can request and obtain complimentary NextGen® Ambient Assist trials. For unlimited NextGen® Ambient Assist and other clinical documentation workflows, you must upgrade to the NextGen® Mobile Pro package. Add Documentation in the SOAP Notes

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. To add narrative documentation through dictation or the keyboard in Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) sections, select Dictate. Note: You can use Dictate only if you have NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.9.4 or later versions. To use natural conversation between the provider and patient to create a structured SOAP note immediately after the patient visit, select Ambient. Documenting SOAP Clinical Notes

In Today's Visit in Patient Chart, you can select Dictate to document and complete clinical notes. In Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) Notes, you can dictate your notes using a microphone, add blocks of text with documentation accelerators like Copy Forward or Macros, or enter and edit notes using a keyboard. On completing the SOAP notes, you can send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Today's visit view You can use SOAP Settings to modify your SOAP sections in SOAP Note. Copy forward button Note: If the device is offline while searching for the past encounter dictation text, a message appears indicating that the device is offline, connect to the internet and try again. Copy Forward SOAP Note Data from Previous Encounters

You can copy previous Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes, and then send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Dictate.The SOAP Note view opens. Select a SOAP section to enter clinical documentation. Select Copy Forward.The previously entered data for that SOAP section appears with the encounter dates. Recorded soap notes of previous encounters To copy a note to the today's visit SOAP note text box, select the note. Note: You can copy notes from multiple encounters. Current encounter soap note text box Optional: Edit the copied notes in the SOAP note text box using the mobile keyboard, and then select Done on the keyboard. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Dictate.SOAP Note opens. Select SOAP Settings, and select the appropriate options. To create macros, do the following: Select Create New Macro. Enter a macro name and macro text. Optional: To turn on NextGen® Ambient Assist macros, select Ambient, and select a mode. Standard adds defined words without additional words outside of dictation. Ambient Complete adds additional words between existing macro text based on context. Note: The added macros are also available in the NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal. Enter the activation phrase to add the macro. Optional: To map a SOAP section to a macro, select SOAP Section. Note: You can select only one SOAP section for a macro. Select Done. Document the Patient's Ambient Progress Note

You can document therapy notes discussed with the patient with minimum manual data entry. You can use the AI-driven therapy workflows to listen to your discussions with the patient, and reuse the notes on the Ambient Progress Note template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the encounter, select Open Template, and then open the Ambient Progress Note (BH) template. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select a program, specialty, and visit type. Select the configured link to open the ambient website in your default browser. Note: You can activate the listening capability in the ambient browser during your discussion with the patient to capture notes automatically.
