Send SOAP Notes in NextGen® Ambient Assist

You can use NextGen® Ambient Assist to generate and edit Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes from your patient visit, and then send them to NextGen® Enterprise EHR.

Note:

NextGen® Ambient Assist replaces any existing SOAP note narrative text.

To prevent blocking of ambient services, you can add api.nabla.com to your internet allowlist.

You can continue with the ambient recording when you switch from wireless to cellular network or the other way around. During an ambient session, if the internet connection is lost, audio can buffer for up to two minutes and can resume with normal transcription when the connection is restored.

Ambient is available by default for NextGen® Mobile Pro users. You can request and obtain complimentary NextGen® Ambient Assist trials. For unlimited NextGen® Ambient Assist and other clinical documentation workflows, you must upgrade to the NextGen® Mobile Pro package.

Note: The NextGen® Mobile admin users obtain ten complimentary NextGen® Ambient Assist trials per month.

Open NextGen® Mobile.
Open the Patient Chart view.
Select Today's Visit.

Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter.
Select Ambient.
The Ambient view opens and starts recording your live dictations while you interact with the patient.
Note: If you are a NextGen® Mobile or NextGen® Mobile Plus user, a message about requesting NextGen® Ambient Assist trial appears. You can select Agree & Request Trial to obtain trials and upgrade to the NextGen® Mobile Pro package.
Select the settings icon, and then set up the ambient workflow preferences in the Ambient Settings view.
To pause and resume recording, select the pause button.
Optional: To minimize the Ambient view and continue the Ambient session, select the minimize icon.

You can move the minimized view to any preferred position. You can also collapse the view by dragging it to the edge.
When you complete the recording for the encounter, select End visit.

Preview

displays the recorded dictation note in the corresponding SOAP section.

Note: You can select the SOAP setion to edit the notes.
To send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select Send To EHR.
On Ambient Assist Survey, do one of the following:
The survey is applicable to NextGen® Mobile Pro users who sent a minimum of 20 SOAP notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR using NextGen® Ambient Assist.
- To answer the questions and complete the survey, select Take Survey.
- To skip the survey and return to Today's Visit, select Skip.
