Send SOAP Notes in NextGen® Ambient Assist

You can use NextGen® Ambient Assist to generate and edit Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes from your patient visit, and then send them to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: NextGen® Ambient Assist replaces any existing SOAP note narrative text. To prevent blocking of ambient services, you can add api.nabla.com to your internet allowlist. You can continue with the ambient recording when you switch from wireless to cellular network or the other way around. During an ambient session, if the internet connection is lost, audio can buffer for up to two minutes and can resume with normal transcription when the connection is restored. Ambient is available by default for NextGen® Mobile Pro users. You can request and obtain complimentary NextGen® Ambient Assist trials. For unlimited NextGen® Ambient Assist and other clinical documentation workflows, you must upgrade to the NextGen® Mobile Pro package. Edit SOAP Settings

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Dictate.SOAP Note opens. Select SOAP Settings, and select the appropriate options. To create macros, do the following: Select Create New Macro. Enter a macro name and macro text. Optional: To turn on NextGen® Ambient Assist macros, select Ambient, and select a mode. Standard adds defined words without additional words outside of dictation. Ambient Complete adds additional words between existing macro text based on context. Note: The added macros are also available in the NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal. Enter the activation phrase to add the macro. Optional: To map a SOAP section to a macro, select SOAP Section. Note: You can select only one SOAP section for a macro. Select Done. Managing Today's Visit

The Today’s Visit workflow provides an intuitive, single-screen for the entire clinical documentation workflow. In the Today's Visit tab on the Patient Chart view, you can review and add clinical documentation to the patient's encounter. You can turn on or turn off the Today's Visit tab in Admin Console and NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal for different product groups in your clinic. Today’s Visit is turned on by default for NextGen® Mobile Pro, NextGen® Mobile Plus, and NextGen® Mobile free users. Today's visit view NextGen® Ambient Assist is integrated with NextGen® Mobile and NextGen® Enterprise EHR for sending notes without having to copy and paste. You can select the feedback Feedback icon icon to enter your comments and submit to the NextGen® Mobile team. You can move this feedback icon to your required position on Today's Visit. Add Documentation in the SOAP Notes

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. To add narrative documentation through dictation or the keyboard in Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) sections, select Dictate. Note: You can use Dictate only if you have NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.9.4 or later versions. To use natural conversation between the provider and patient to create a structured SOAP note immediately after the patient visit, select Ambient. Send SOAP Notes

You can complete Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes and then send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The Google™ Speech-to-Text (STT) tool in integration with the Gemini™ 1.5 Pro model automatically corrects the dictated notes for grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors without disrupting the dictation streaming service. Note: Google™ SRE is available only with an established internet connection and is not currently available for offline use. The transcription system can process and refine only content greater than fifty characters in length. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Dictate.SOAP Note opens. Note: If necessary, you can edit the SOAP settings. To dictate a note, select the SOAP section, and then select the speech icon. Managing NextGen® Ambient Assist in a Psychiatric Workflow

You can manage the narrative data from NextGen® Ambient Assist to save time during client visits. When you capture a natural conversation with the patient using NextGen® Ambient Assist, the narrative data is saved to the NGMobileDictation template and shared with the Psych Mobile (BH) template. The Psych Mobile (BH) template contains the following sections: HPI ROS Histories Previous Diagnostics Physical Exam Mental Status Exam/Assessment Diagnostic Interpretation Procedure Plan/Additional Information/Discussion Document NextGen Ambient Assist Narrative Information You can document the information present in the narrative fields in the panels shared with the NG Mobile Dictation template.
