Dictate with NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop

Before you begin You must turn on Auto Launch Speech Box in Settings > Edit Dictator to automatically open the speech box when you connect to NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop. By default, the Auto Launch Speech Box option is turned off. After pairing your desktop with NextGen® Mobile, you can use NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop to dictate into NextGen® Enterprise EHR, Speech Box, Notepad, or Microsoft Word®. You can place the cursor where you want to enter data, and start dictation in NextGen® Mobile. Open NextGen® Mobile. On Hub, select D2D icon. If Auto Launch Speech Box in Edit Dictator is turned off, you can open Speech Box manually with the Open Speech Box voice command. You can also open Speech Box from your desktop by selecting Open Speech Box on NextGen D2D. Dictation and Speech Box open. Dictation view Speech box Start dictating to Speech Box. Edit Streaming Dictation in the Text Box

Before you begin To view the dictation text box, you must turn off the Hide Streaming Text option in Settings. Note: You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. The streaming text box opens displaying the Record Dictation message. Record your dictation. The dictation text is processed, and the text box displays the refined note with the Transcript Complete! message. View the dictation text in the text box. You can use vertical scrolling for long text that extends beyond the text box's view. On the text box, select the location where you want to add or change text. To edit dictation, do one of the following: Use the keyboard to delete or insert text. Use NextGen® Mobile verbal commands to edit a text. Select a word or a block of text, and use the commands on the context menu to edit text. The context menu contains useful commands

Send SOAP Notes in NextGen® Ambient Assist

You can use NextGen® Ambient Assist to generate and edit Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes from your patient visit, and then send them to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: NextGen® Ambient Assist replaces any existing SOAP note narrative text. To prevent blocking of ambient services, you can add api.nabla.com to your internet allowlist. You can continue with the ambient recording when you switch from wireless to cellular network or the other way around. During an ambient session, if the internet connection is lost, audio can buffer for up to two minutes and can resume with normal transcription when the connection is restored. Ambient is available by default for NextGen® Mobile Pro users. You can request and obtain complimentary NextGen® Ambient Assist trials. For unlimited NextGen® Ambient Assist and other clinical documentation workflows, you must upgrade to the NextGen® Mobile Pro package. Copy Forward SOAP Note Data from Previous Encounters

You can copy previous Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) notes, and then send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Dictate.The SOAP Note view opens. Select a SOAP section to enter clinical documentation. Select Copy Forward.The previously entered data for that SOAP section appears with the encounter dates. Recorded soap notes of previous encounters To copy a note to the today's visit SOAP note text box, select the note. Note: You can copy notes from multiple encounters. Current encounter soap note text box Optional: Edit the copied notes in the SOAP note text box using the mobile keyboard, and then select Done on the keyboard. Navigation Commands for Dictations Using Google SRE

Google™ Speech Recognition Engine (SRE) users can use the following navigation commands for dictation: Note: Notepad on the Windows® 11 operating system does not support dictation and navigation commands. Microsoft Word® does not support some commands in certain fields. Note: The undo-related commands do not work for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Add, Edit, and Delete Custom Words in the SOAP Note

To ensure accurate dictation results, you can add custom words to your speech profile and save them in categories, such as person names, location names, medicines, procedures, and diagnoses. For example, you can replace similar-sounding provider names with different spellings, such as Carter and Karter. You can also add abbreviations, such as CHF, to appear in the transcription when you dictate congestive heart failure. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Dictate. In SOAP Note, select the SOAP section, and then select the microphone icon to dictate a note. To stop or pause the dictation, select the microphone icon. Notes are entered in the SOAP section, and Tap to start changes to Tap to continue.
