Documenting SOAP Clinical Notes

In Today's Visit in Patient Chart, you can select Dictate to document and complete clinical notes. In Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) Notes, you can dictate your notes using a microphone, add blocks of text with documentation accelerators like Copy Forward or Macros, or enter and edit notes using a keyboard. On completing the SOAP notes, you can send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR.

You can use SOAP Settings to modify your SOAP sections in SOAP Note.

Note: If the device is offline while searching for the past encounter dictation text, a message appears indicating that the device is offline, connect to the internet and try again.

The Histories and Previous Diagnostics status depends on the following NextGen® Enterprise EHR versions:

When you select and dictate, NextGen® Speech-to-Text (STT) converts dictation to streaming text. You can select to toggle pausing or resuming the dictation. The microphone is not available if the connection fails between NextGen® Mobile and the Speech-to-Text (STT) server.

NextGen® Speech-to-Text enables you to use macros of predetermined text and supports the navigational voice commands.
