NextGen Mobile Dictation Streaming Workflow

With NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming, you can do the following: Dictate your job with or without displaying the streaming text. You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. If you have macros set up for your dictator profile, you can use them to quickly insert snippets of text into your dictation. You can attach images to your job. You can make annotations on the attached images and add text boxes to the images. When you are ready to transmit your job, you can select an edit option that controls how your job is handled when you transmit it, and whether it returns to you for additional review. You can choose from several clinical workflow options, including sending to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, sending to transcription, or performing a device edit. Navigation Commands for Dictations Using Google SRE

Google™ Speech Recognition Engine (SRE) users can use the following navigation commands for dictation: Note: Notepad on the Windows® 11 operating system does not support dictation and navigation commands. Microsoft Word® does not support some commands in certain fields. Note: The undo-related commands do not work for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Dictate with NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop

Before you begin You must turn on Auto Launch Speech Box in Settings > Edit Dictator to automatically open the speech box when you connect to NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop. By default, the Auto Launch Speech Box option is turned off. After pairing your desktop with NextGen® Mobile, you can use NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop to dictate into NextGen® Enterprise EHR, Speech Box, Notepad, or Microsoft Word®. You can place the cursor where you want to enter data, and start dictation in NextGen® Mobile. Open NextGen® Mobile. On Hub, select D2D icon. If Auto Launch Speech Box in Edit Dictator is turned off, you can open Speech Box manually with the Open Speech Box voice command. You can also open Speech Box from your desktop by selecting Open Speech Box on NextGen D2D. Dictation and Speech Box open. Dictation view Speech box Start dictating to Speech Box. Edit Streaming Dictation in the Text Box

Before you begin To view the dictation text box, you must turn off the Hide Streaming Text option in Settings. Note: You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. The streaming text box opens displaying the Record Dictation message. Record your dictation. The dictation text is processed, and the text box displays the refined note with the Transcript Complete! message. View the dictation text in the text box. You can use vertical scrolling for long text that extends beyond the text box's view. On the text box, select the location where you want to add or change text. To edit dictation, do one of the following: Use the keyboard to delete or insert text. Use NextGen® Mobile verbal commands to edit a text. Select a word or a block of text, and use the commands on the context menu to edit text. The context menu contains useful commands

Inserting Macros in Dictation

You can use macros in NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming workflows to save time and improve documentation consistency. Macros substitute frequently-used text for shorter expressions during dictation. For example, you can quickly insert a standard set of instructions into your dictation text by mentioning the appropriate macro. You can document common or generic clinical notes with MY MACROS to reuse during dictation in the Edit Dictator view of NextGen® Mobile Settings. When new macros are added in NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal, and if the macros do not work in NextGen® Mobile for dictations, you must reopen the NextGen® Mobile application and try inserting the macros in your dictations. Note: The Macros option is available if you use Google™ Speech Recognition Engine (SRE) in NextGen® Mobile. Insert Macros You can use macros to substitute frequently used text during dictation. Documenting SOAP Clinical Notes

In Today's Visit in Patient Chart, you can select Dictate to document and complete clinical notes. In Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) Notes, you can dictate your notes using a microphone, add blocks of text with documentation accelerators like Copy Forward or Macros, or enter and edit notes using a keyboard. On completing the SOAP notes, you can send the notes to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Today's visit view You can use SOAP Settings to modify your SOAP sections in SOAP Note. Copy forward button Note: If the device is offline while searching for the past encounter dictation text, a message appears indicating that the device is offline, connect to the internet and try again.
