NextGen Mobile Dictation Streaming Workflow

With NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming, you can do the following: Dictate your job with or without displaying the streaming text. You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. If you have macros set up for your dictator profile, you can use them to quickly insert snippets of text into your dictation. You can attach images to your job. You can make annotations on the attached images and add text boxes to the images. When you are ready to transmit your job, you can select an edit option that controls how your job is handled when you transmit it, and whether it returns to you for additional review. You can choose from several clinical workflow options, including sending to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, sending to transcription, or performing a device edit. NextGen Mobile Dictation Classic Workflow

You can use the classic dictation (non-rhythm) workflow to naturally dictate the narrative of the patient visit. NextGen® Mobile handles the editing and delivery, and you are free to perform other tasks. Inserting Macros in Dictation

You can use macros in NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming workflows to save time and improve documentation consistency. Macros substitute frequently-used text for shorter expressions during dictation. For example, you can quickly insert a standard set of instructions into your dictation text by mentioning the appropriate macro. You can document common or generic clinical notes with MY MACROS to reuse during dictation in the Edit Dictator view of NextGen® Mobile Settings. When new macros are added in NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal, and if the macros do not work in NextGen® Mobile for dictations, you must reopen the NextGen® Mobile application and try inserting the macros in your dictations. Note: The Macros option is available if you use NextGen® Speech-to-Text (STT) in NextGen® Mobile. Insert Macros You can use macros to substitute frequently used text during dictation. Create Text Macros

You can document common or generic clinical notes with MY MACROS to reuse during dictation in the NextGen® Mobile Settings view. Note: MY MACROS created in NextGen® Mobile are available in NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal and conversely. For more information on NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest NextGen®Mobile Solutions Cloud Portal User Guide. Open NextGen® Mobile. On the menu bar, select Settings. The Settings view opens. Select the dictator you want to create macros for. The Edit Dictator view opens. Select Macros. Note: The Macros option is available if you use Google™ Speech Recognition Engine (SRE) in NextGen® Mobile. The Macros view opens. Macros view Note: By default, the macros appear in the last-created order. You can sort the macros in alphabetical order. You can also search for a macro. Insert Macros

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. Record dictation view Select Record Dictation. The Stop button appears with a timer for recording your dictation. To insert a macro, during dictation, say Insert <macro name>. The preset text associated with the macro is inserted into your dictation and can be edited as regular text. Note: If the insertion of a macro causes a field to exceed its character limit, the macro is not inserted, and a message appears.
