Select Order Items from Favorites
You can select laboratory, diagnostic, and immunization order items from a customizable favorites list.
Note:

Open CPOE.
On the CPOE Order Search Bar, select
Favorites
.
The
FAVORITES
list appears displaying the order items that are associated with the selected tags. You can select multiple tags from the
Tags
list.
Select the performing entities for
Laboratory Performing Entity
and
Diagnostic Performing Entity
from the
Performing Entity
list.
In the
FAVORITES
window, select an order item.

Search for Orders Items
Before you begin Ensure that you have configured the Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) search URL in System Administrator. For more information, see Configure CPOE Search API URL . Ensure that the search data is uploaded to the Amazon Web Services™ (AWS) instance. For more information, see Upload Search Data to Cloud Sever . You can search for an order item on the Order Search Bar using the test name. You can also search for laboratory and diagnostic tests by their compendium code, and immunization items by their respective CVX and CPT® codes. Open CPOE. On the Order Search Bar, enter the order item name, compendium code, CVX, or CPT® code. Note: CPOE synchronizes the compendium data to process searches for laboratory and diagnostic tests with the AWS™ instance you configure during installation. The matching results for the compendium code appear in the SEARCH RESULTS list. The search results appear. To filter the search results by order type, select one of the following filter

Select Common Orders
Before you begin Ensure that you have configured the common orders display period. Ensure that you have loaded and updated the laboratory and diagnostic test compendiums in the NextGen database using the Orders Management Console. Note: The most-frequently ordered items that are mapped to the NextGen compendium appear in the COMMON ORDERS list. For more information on updating the NextGen compendium list, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. You can select laboratory, diagnostic, and immunization order items from the COMMON ORDERS list, which displays a maximum of the twenty most-frequently ordered items at the user and practice levels. Open CPOE. Select the Order Search Bar. The COMMON ORDERS list appears. To filter the COMMON ORDERS list by order type, select one of the following filter options. Clear Selected Order Items
You can clear the order items you selected in the COMMON ORDERS, SEARCH RESULTS, FAVORITES, and IMMUNIZATIONS lists. Open CPOE. Select an order item.The order details appear. Add diagnoses to the selected order items. Note: For an immunization order item, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) automatically adds the default ICD-10-CM Z23 diagnosis code. To clear a selected order item, do one of the following: In the left pane, clear the check box corresponding to the selected order item. Select Clear for Add. Note: Clear for Add only clears all the selected order items and diagnoses in the left pane. This option is useful when you want to create your order according to the patient's medical condition. You can select multiple combinations of tests and diagnoses. In the right pane, select the clear icon corresponding to the selected order item. Selecting Orders
To create your order, you can use one or both of the following approaches. You can select a diagnosis and then add the appropriate order items. This approach can be useful for differential diagnoses. For example, for a patient exhibiting symptoms of pneumonia, you may have two differential diagnoses—streptococcus pneumonia and viral pneumonia. You can select a set of tests specific to streptococcus pneumonia first, followed by a different set specific to viral pneumonia. You can select the order items first and then assign the diagnoses. In this approach, you can search for and select a laboratory, diagnostic, or immunization item using the following options. Select Common Orders Search for Orders Items Select Order Items from Favorites Select Order Items from the Immunizations Recommendations List When you select an order item, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) displays and saves the order details in the Incomplete Items list. Set Default Filters to the Favorites List
You can set a default filter to the FAVORITES list to view the most frequently used order items. Open CPOE. Select Favorites. The FAVORITES list appears displaying the order items that are associated with the selected tags. Note: For more information on creating a tag and associating order items to it, see Create User Tags and Create a Favoite Order Item List. In Settings > Tags Dropdown List > Default, select the check box next to the tag. Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) adds the selected tags to the FAVORITES list. Manage General Order Details
In the All tab, which displays a summary of all your selected order items, you can view and modify the diagnoses for each order item; and any information that is common for all the selected order items, such as ordering provider, location, and insurance details. Note: Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) groups the order items by order type and performing entity. Open CPOE. Select an order item. Assign a diagnosis to the selected order item. Note: For an immunization order item, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) automatically adds the default ICD-10-CM Z23 diagnosis code.
