Define a test compendium	You can load tests into NextGen® Enterprise EHR using the Orders Management Console. The available compendiums are: NextGen® Enterprise compendium Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC®) codes compendium	Go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community (NextGen® Enterprise EHR) and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
Order a radiology test	You can place lab test orders within the Orders module using the Create New Radiology Order for Patient Name window. You can also place lab tests through an NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine template or from a bulk order generated through NextGen Care® Population Management Hub.	Create a Radiology Order
Complete an unfinished radiology order that was started from the Orders Search bar	You can complete unfinished orders from the Orders Summary tab in the Orders module.	Using the Orders Summary Tab

Receive test results	Test results can be entered in the Orders module though an interface or you can enter test results manually.	Enter Radiology Test Results Manually
Map test master files	Before you can add results to a test order, you must map a value from the NextGen® Enterprise compendium to each test order that your practice uses. You can map tests using File Maintenance Master Files.	Go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
Delete existing radiology tests	You can delete cancelled tests without results from NextGen® Enterprise EHR.	Cancelling and Deleting Test Orders
Commit test Results	Typically, when a result is received across an interface but the system cannot automatically match it to the patient or order in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, it is placed in the NextGen® Clinical Message Manager. From there, you can review and confirm patient tests and results before committing them to the patient's chart.You can match test results to a patient or an order, or add critical missing details such as the provider details. Orders Module Main Tabs

When you access the Order Module window, three tabs appear: Results Displays lab and radiology test results for the current patient. The Results tab is displayed as the initial tab by default. You can set up user preferences to change the initial tab display. Orders Summary View orders for all or selected order types for the current patient. You can change existing orders and place new orders. Immunizations Order and track any vaccines given to a patient. Unfinished Orders from NextGen Care Population Management Hub

You can complete unfinished patient orders that are part of a bulk order created from NextGen Care Population Management Hub. A bulk order is used to simultaneously order the same lab and/or radiology (diagnostic imaging) tests with the same provider and location for multiple patients in a practice. The bulk order includes tests that are set up in in File Maintenance from the NextGen compendium. After the bulk order is placed, it is split into individual patient orders, which are separately managed. When the order is created, it is associated with a same-day, unlocked clinical encounter for a given patient, if available, or a new patient encounter is created. Unfinished patient orders originating from NextGen Care Population Management Hub need to have required fields or actions completed before they can be sent or printed. Unfinished orders may not have a diagnosis or a vendor or could not be sent to a vendor directly over the interface because they did not have all the necessary data

Managing Unfinished Orders for All Patients across a Practice

You can select the pre-defined Unfinished filter to view unfinished lab and radiology orders for all patients in the practice, including unfinished orders from NextGen Care Population Management Hub. The filter displays the following columns in this default order: Image Type, Recurrence, Order#, Encounter Date, Patient, Description, Performing Entity, Provider Name, Test Location, Order Source, and Expected Result. The Order Source column identifies where the order was generated from, for example, Order Module, Template, or Bulk Order for orders created from the NextGen Care Population Management Hub. The following actions are available for this filter by default: Refresh, Update, Cancel, Delete, Goto Chart, and Tracking. The NextGen Status is New for unfinished orders. You can open one order at a time and enter the required information to complete the order. The NextGen Status of the order then changes to Ordered or Sent. Orders Module

You can use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module to create and manage your lab and radiology orders (also known as diagnostic imaging orders). You can perform the following tasks from the Orders module: Place and send lab and radiology orders. Complete unfinished lab or radiology orders for a patient that originate from a bulk order generated through NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. Choosing advanced imaging tests by their appropriate use criteria (AUC) scores when you place a radiology order. Set up order filters for your practice or private use. Set up schedules for future and recurring orders. Add, view, and track order comments from different areas of the Orders module. Enter test results manually or view test results received from an interface. Send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal.
