Cancel Test Orders

When you cancel an order, you can automatically notify the performing entity if the vendor accepts electronic cancelation messages. If a vendor does not accept electronic notification of a cancelation, you can call the vendor and then record the cancelation in the Orders module. Open the Orders Summary tab in the Orders Module. Select the test order you want to cancel. On the Orders Summary Top toolbar, select Cancel. The Cancel Order window opens. In the Cancel comment box, enter the reason you are canceling the test, using up to 255 characters. If you If you enter more than 255 characters, the extra characters are automatically truncated. Do one of the following: To cancel the order and notify the vendor, select Cancel Order & Send. To view if the cancelled order was sent successfully or failed, hover over the Cancelled status in the NextGen Status column. To cancel the order without sending a cancelation message to the vendor, select Cancel Order. The system updates the NextGen Stat

Delete Test Orders

You can delete test orders, including those with results. Each test order shows a Result Status, such as Sent or Pending. If a test was ordered and results were received, the Result Status is displayed as Final, or one of the list of legal statuses. Open the Orders Summary tab in the Orders module. Select the test order to delete. On the Orders Summary Top toolbar, select Delete. If you delete an order that already has results posted for it, a confirmation message appears. To confirm the deletion, select Yes. Any new results for the deleted order are moved to the NextGen® Clinical Message Manager. The test is deleted and no longer appears in the orders list. Remove an Order in the Order Hold Grid

On the Labs tab, do one of the following: Select an order in the Order Hold grid and click Remove. To delete all of the orders available in the Order Hold grid, click Remove All. Remove a Test from the Standard Tests list

You can remove a lab test from the grid so that it no longer appears in lists of standard lab tests. On the IORTS Config Orders system template, expand the Manage Standard Tests panel. Select the test in the grid. Click Delete. Parent topic: Managing Standard Tests

Cancel Orders in the Radiology Order Management Template

You can cancel ordered or scheduled radiology tests that do not need to be performed. If a radiology test is mistakenly performed, you can mark it as performed in error. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Select the Cancelled checkbox.A message appears to confirm the cancellation. Select Yes. Select Update, and then select Close.The order is updated as Cancelled. Delete an Immunizations Order

Open the Orders module and select the Orders Summary tab. To add a immunizations to an existing order, right-click the immunizations order and select Delete. The system deletes the immunizations order, removes it from the Orders Summary tab, and updates the registry, if appropriate. Note: On the Orders Summary tab, any Immunizations order can be deleted, including an Immunizations order with a NextGen Status of Complete.
