Enter Lab Test Results Manually

Lab test results can be entered with NextGen Clinical Message Manager and an interface agent, or you can enter them manually. You must have permission to add results, otherwise the test results are not visible. On the Orders Summary tab, select an order. To expand the Results panel, select the Results down arrow. Select the New Results Entry tab. Enter the results detail and select Save. A message appears, confirming that the results are saved. To collapse the Results panel, select the Results up arrow. Automatic Document and Image Attachment to Test Results

With document interfaces, radiology documents that are imported can be automatically attached to an order through NextGen® Clinical Message Manager and an interface agent. The automatic portion works if you have the document interface. If the document is sent with an HL7 interface, it links the document to the order automatically. The MSH, PID, PV1, OBR and OBX segments must be sent correctly for this to work. Parent topic: Using the Results Panel

New Document and Images Entry Tab

On the New Document and Images tab, you can attach documents and images to lab and radiology orders. Test results are available in electronic form or paper form. If your test results are paper-based, you can scan the document and link it to the test order result. You can also search for other NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents on your file systems and other documents, such as Document Management (DM) images, and Microsoft® Word (.doc and -.docx formats). You must have permission assigned to link orders results and documents. Your System Administrator assigns your permissions. Using the Results Panel

You can perform the following actions in the Results panel on the Orders Summary tab: Enter test results coming in with an interface using the Formatted Results, Grid Results, or Documents, Images, and URLs tabs. Manually enter results using the New Results Entry tab. Manually enter related documents using the New Document and Images Entry tab. View and add tracking comments. Send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal. The actions available on the Results panel toolbar change depending on which type of results are being viewed or created. Formatted Results. Allows the entry of information on radiology results for the current patient after an image or document has been linked to this test using the New Document and Images Entry tab. Grid Results. Not used for radiology tests. Values for the results cannot be graphed. Documents and Images. Displays any documents or graphics attached to this patient's radiology test's results. Enter Test Results from a Medical Records Template

The Result order control on a Medical Records template, displays the New Results Entry tab from the Orders module. This tab enables you to manually add and save test results for a lab or radiology order. It displays the order number and panel name. Note: You must have permission to add test results; otherwise, the results are not visible. To display the order number and panel name, a trigger must be set up to assign the order number to the order control field. If it is not, the New Results Entry tab is blank. For more information on order test results, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Orders Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Enter comments (if any) in the Panel Comment box. To enter a collection date and time, select the Coll. Date/Time field, select the list to display a calendar, and then select the applicable date and time in the calendar. Select the test result status from the Result Status list. The default is Final. Select New Result
