On the New Document and Images tab, you can attach documents and images to lab and radiology orders. Test results are available in electronic form or paper form. If your test results are paper-based, you can scan the document and link it to the test order result.
You can also search for other NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents on your file systems and other documents, such as Document Management (DM) images, and Microsoft® Word (.doc and -.docx formats).
You must have permission assigned to link orders results and documents. Your System Administrator assigns your permissions.
The New Document and Images Entry tab provides the following toolbar options.
Option | Description |

Select panel | Selects a result panel. |
Browse File System | Browses the file system to look for a document or image file to attach. This function supports both -.doc and -.docx file formats. It also supports -.pcx format for images. |
Search EHR | Searches NextGen® Enterprise EHR for documents or images on the encounter associated with this test. |
Search DM | Searches for scanned Document Management (DM) images associated with the order for a patient. |
Clear | Clear the list of documents and images. |
Link | Links the selected document or image to the order. You can link -.pcx format images to a patient's file. The button label changes to Unlink Document/Image/Url when you select a linked document or image. |
Document Status | Selects the document status from the list. For example, Final, Order cancelled, or Pending. |
