Orders Module

You can use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module to create and manage your lab and radiology orders (also known as diagnostic imaging orders).

You can perform the following tasks from the Orders module:

  • Place and send lab and radiology orders.
  • Complete unfinished lab or radiology orders for a patient that originate from a bulk order generated through NextGen Care® Population Management Hub.
  • Choosing advanced imaging tests by their appropriate use criteria (AUC) scores when you place a radiology order.
  • Set up order filters for your practice or private use.
  • Set up schedules for future and recurring orders.
  • Add, view, and track order comments from different areas of the Orders module.
  • Enter test results manually or view test results received from an interface.
  • Send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal.

To use the Orders module, you must first set up tests, SAP® Crystal Reports®, master file data, practice preferences, and user permissions for orders at your practice. The Orders module also provides access to the Immunizations module. You can manage orders for patients across your practice using the Orders Management order control in a custom practice template.

If you are using the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, you can place lab and radiology orders from the applicable templates. You can access these orders from the Templates module or from the Orders module.
