Customize the Initial Tab View in the Orders Module

When you open the Orders module, the Results tab appears by default. You can set up a user preference to display a different tab as the default. For more information on Orders user preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Layout and Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Main menu, select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. In the General tab, under the Orders section, in the Initial View list, select one of the following: Results Flowsheet Orders Summary Immun - Chart Immun - Recommendation Immun - Registry Select Apply and then OK. Orders Module

You can use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module to create and manage your lab and radiology orders (also known as diagnostic imaging orders). You can perform the following tasks from the Orders module: Place and send lab and radiology orders. Complete unfinished lab or radiology orders for a patient that originate from a bulk order generated through NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. Choosing advanced imaging tests by their appropriate use criteria (AUC) scores when you place a radiology order. Set up order filters for your practice or private use. Set up schedules for future and recurring orders. Add, view, and track order comments from different areas of the Orders module. Enter test results manually or view test results received from an interface. Send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal. Using the Orders Summary Tab

The Orders Summary tab provides order information in the following panels: Orders panel. View, update, and track existing orders and create orders for the current patient. Results panel. View test results from an interface or manually enter test results and related documents for the current patient. This panel is collapsed when you open the Orders Summary tab, but you can expand it to view its contents. Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. View and add order tracking or sign-off comments. View Lab Results

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the necessary access rights in System Administrator for the Orders Module. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the results of a patient's laboratory tests. Additionally, you can open the Orders Module and view the order details associated with a result. For more information on the Orders Module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Quick Buttons panel, select Lab Results.The Review Patient Results window opens displaying a report of all completed laboratory tests in a flow sheet format, that includes the date and time of the specimens associated with an order collected,test name, and result for the test name. Updating Lab and Radiology Orders

You can open an existing unlocked lab or radiology order and add or change details for it. You can also add comments for an updated order, if required. If the encounter associated with an order has been locked, you can only view the order. The Save, Save & Send, Save & Fax, Save & Print, or Save & Task actions are unavailable. When you update an unfinished order, you must complete all required fields that have been set up as Mandatory Data Points in File Maintenance Practice Preferences. These required fields appear in red text. If you do not fill in a required field, when you try to save your selections or entries, a message appears, prompting you to complete the field.
