Orders Module Main Tabs

When you access the Order Module window, three tabs appear: Results Displays lab and radiology test results for the current patient. The Results tab is displayed as the initial tab by default. You can set up user preferences to change the initial tab display. Orders Summary View orders for all or selected order types for the current patient. You can change existing orders and place new orders. Immunizations Order and track any vaccines given to a patient. View Lab Results

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the necessary access rights in System Administrator for the Orders Module. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the results of a patient's laboratory tests. Additionally, you can open the Orders Module and view the order details associated with a result. For more information on the Orders Module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Quick Buttons panel, select Lab Results.The Review Patient Results window opens displaying a report of all completed laboratory tests in a flow sheet format, that includes the date and time of the specimens associated with an order collected,test name, and result for the test name. Open the Orders Module

You can open the Orders module from Top Toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to create and manage your orders . You can also access orders from the applicable templates if you are using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to place orders. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window opens. To open the Orders module, do one of the following: Select Orders on the Quick Buttons panel. View Order History

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the View access right enabled in MODULES > Medical Records > Orders in System Administrator. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view a quick list of the patient's most recent orders, sorted by newest to oldest, and also open the Order Summary tab in the Orders Module for a detailed view of the patient's orders history. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view a quick list of the patient's most recent orders, on the Quick Buttons panel, hover over Orders.The Orders table appears displaying the status, ordered date, order item description, and time frame or encounter date, or administration date, depending on the type of the order. Configure Practice Preference for Display of Orders

You can configure the default settings for NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System > Document Management, and then select Practices. The Practices List window opens. In the Practices list, double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In Preferences List, select Orders Module. In the Orders/Results Linking section, select the default view the orders appear in the linking window. In Order Type and Default Source, select the default source that each order type collects data from. In Adaptive Content Engine Order Status Update Upon Sign-off, select a status that is displayed for each order type when you complete a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine order from the linking screen.
