Pre-defined Orders Summary Filters

You can select orders to view the order type on the Orders Summary grid using the following pre-defined filters: Field Description All (Default) Opens orders of all order types. Labs Opens only the lab order tests. Radiology Opens only the radiology order tests. Imm. (Immunization) Opens only the immunization orders. Scheduled Opens only the future and recurring orders. Managing Unfinished Orders for All Patients across a Practice

You can select the pre-defined Unfinished filter to view unfinished lab and radiology orders for all patients in the practice, including unfinished orders from NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. The filter displays the following columns in this default order: Image Type, Recurrence, Order#, Encounter Date, Patient, Description, Performing Entity, Provider Name, Test Location, Order Source, and Expected Result. The Order Source column identifies where the order was generated from, for example, Order Module, Template, or Bulk Order for orders created from the NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. The following actions are available for this filter by default: Refresh, Update, Cancel, Delete, Goto Chart, and Tracking. The NextGen Status is New for unfinished orders. You can open one order at a time and enter the required information to complete the order. The NextGen Status of the order then changes to Ordered or Sent. Select an Unfinished Lab or Radiology Order to Update from the Orders Management Grid

On the Filters bar of the Orders Management Control Practice template, select Unfinished. The Orders Management grid for the Unfinished filter opens. Double-click the row for the patient order to update. If you select a lab order, the Update Lab Order for Patient Name window opens. If you select a radiology order, the Update Radiology Order for Patient Name window opens. Add to or change the order following the instructions in Selecting Tests and Entering Test Details. Pre-defined Orders Management Filters

You can choose which orders to view on the Orders Management grid using the following pre-defined filters: Due ( Default ). Displays orders that are due within the next week. Overdue. Displays orders that were due within the last two weeks or that do not have results within two weeks of their expected result date. Unfinished. Displays all unfinished lab and diagnostic imaging orders with a NextGen Status of New for all patients in the practice. Different columns and Top toolbar actions appear based on the filter selected. Unfinished Orders from NextGen Care® Population Management Hub

You can complete unfinished patient orders that are part of a bulk order created from NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. A bulk order is used to simultaneously order the same lab and/or radiology (diagnostic imaging) tests with the same provider and location for multiple patients in a practice. The bulk order includes tests that are set up in in File Maintenance from the NextGen compendium. After the bulk order is placed, it is split into individual patient orders, which are separately managed. When the order is created, it is associated with a same-day, unlocked clinical encounter for a given patient, if available, or a new patient encounter is created. Unfinished patient orders originating fromNextGen Care® Population Management Hub need to have required fields or actions completed before they can be sent or printed. Orders Summary Grid Columns

The following table lists the columns that may appear on the Orders Summary grid for Lab and Radiology orders based on the pre-defined or user-defined filter you select. Column Description Image Type Opens an icon indicating the order type. This column appears by default for all filters. Comments Contains a link to the associated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. Documents Contains a link to an associated document or image or URL in the Results panel for the specific order. Recurrence Opens an icon indicating a future or recurring order. You can select the icon to open the View Order Schedule window where you can view order schedule. Ordered Elsewhere Opens an icon indicating the order was created outside the NextGen® Enterprise system. Order # The number assigned to an order when you create and save a new order.
