Radiology Order Quick Reference

The following table provides a quick reference for common radiology order and result tasks and where to find more information. How do I? Do This: Reference Define a test compendium You can load tests into NextGen® Enterprise EHR using the Orders Management Console. The available compendiums are: NextGen® Enterprise compendium Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC®) codes compendium Go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community (NextGen® Enterprise EHR) and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Order a radiology test You can place lab test orders within the Orders module using the Create New Radiology Order for Patient Name window. You can also place lab tests through an NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine template or from a bulk order generated through NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. View or Add Comments from the Orders Summary Tab

You can view and add comments from the Orders Summary tab in the following ways: If comments exist for an order, the Orders Tracking Comments indicator displays next to the order on the Orders Summary tab. To add or view order comments, select the Orders comments tracking indicator next to the selected order and the Sign-off and Orders Tracking section displays the previous comments. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. If an order has no comments, the Orders comments tracking indicator does not display next to the order on the grid. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. You can also add comments for an order or view existing comments for an order by selecting the Tracking tab on the Orders Summary tab. Follow the steps in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. View or Add Comments for an Updated Order

When you update an existing lab or radiology order, you can add and view comments. For more information about adding or viewing orders comments, refer to Adding and Tracking Orders Comments. Select the Tracking tab at the bottom of the Update Lab Order window or Update Radiology Order window. The comments window opens. Select Add . The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Select Tracking as the comment Type. Enter a comment regarding the order. If applicable, select My Phrases to select an appropriate phrase. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. If you add comments that require another user or group to perform a task, select Save & Task and select the recipient. Add Sign-off Comments for Lab or Radiology Orders from the Orders Summary Tab

You can add sign-off comments to an order at any point in the order life cycle, such as when creating or updating an order. After an order is signed off, you can still add tracking or additional sign-off comments. The system also displays any sign-off comments that a provider entered in the PAQ. You can also add sign-off comments from a custom practice template with an Orders Management order control. On the Orders Summary tab, select an order without a Signed-off status on the grid. To add a comment, select the Tracking tab. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. To indicate the type of comment, select Sign-off. Enter your comments for the order. If applicable, select My Phrases to select an appropriate phrase. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. If you add comments that require another user or group to perform a task, select Save & Task and select the recipient. Lab and Radiology Test Result Sign-off

On the Orders Summary tab, orders with a status of Assigned can be signed off. You can add sign-off comments in the Validation Sign-off window before you save the order. After you save the signed-off the order, it appears on the Orders Summary tab with a status of Signed-off. You can access the signed-off order on the Orders Summary tab and enter additional sign-off or tracking comments in the Sign-Off and Tracking Comments section, if necessary. You can set up the sign-off rights for the providers in your practice.
