The Healthwise Patient Education Module is a third-party software package used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. This module enables you to access educational material that covers a variety of health topics that you can print and hand over to patients. Patient Education Browser

With Healthwise Patient Education installed in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can perform the following: Access Patient Education Browser to search for internal and external patient education material. Perform context-sensitive searches of Healthwise Patient Education and practice defined patient education material in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access Healthwise Knowledgebase through the internal browser. Save patient education material to a patient's chart or a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Delete the saved patient education documents on an unlocked encounter in the Encounter History. Open Patient Education Browser You can open the Patient Education Browser window to search for patient education resources. In Patient Education Resources Guide, you can set up and use external educational resources and internal resources from the following modules of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The Patient Education Browser also enables you to add, save, and delete education material to a patient's chart or a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Toggle Between Healthwise Patient Education and Knowledgebase

When you have a topic open in the Patient Education Browser window, you can select Knowledgebase to view more information on the topic. The Knowledgebase displays search results based on a reference code associated with the Healthwise Patient Education search. The Healthwise Knowledgebase is an online health resource and encyclopedia providing information about medical conditions, symptoms, and treatments. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you add the Healthwise website to the list of trusted sites in the Microsoft® Internet Explorer to view the Knowledgebase search results. For information about adding websites to the list of trusted sites, see the Microsoft Internet Explorer Help. Open Patient Education Browser. Search for a topic either manually or by using the Search pane. Select the desired search result. The patient education topic appears in the display pane. Delete a Topic from the Patient's Chart

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the Delete Patient Education Document access right set to Yes in Rights > Operations > Patient Education > Delete Patient Education Document in System Administrator. You can delete the patient education document from the patient's chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Select an unlocked encounter and select the button The Encounter Details window opens. Select the item you want to delete, and select the button. Select Delete. Note: If the seleted patient education document has sent to patient portal, an application message appears stating that the document has already sent to patient portal and unable to delete.
